How to Automatically Download Apps to iPhone and iPad

Published

on

We’ve all downloaded a new app or song on one of iPhone, and only discovered it wasn’t also on our ipad when we left WiFi coverage.

Apple makes it easy to avoid this problem with automatic downloads. The feature first showed up in iOS 5, and is available for most Apple devices.

Users can turn on Automatic Downloads on each device to make sure apps, music and books are always ready to go. users who already use a lot of data should be sure to turn cellular data off to avoid overages from automatically downloaded apps and music.

How to Turn on Automatic Downloads

Tap Settings.

Settings

After that scroll down and select Store.

Store

Next this screen will appear, allowing users to pick which types of media are automatically downloaded to the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

Auto Downloads

To enable automatic downloads for the Music, Apps and Books position the sliders to ON.

It is important to know that if there is content that is not wanted to be automatically downloaded the slider needs to be in the OFF position.

Another option to consider with Automatic Downloads is whether or not you would like content to be downloaded over a cellular connection.

By using Cellular Data the iPhone’s battery life will be impacted and also the amount of data used on a monthly basis will increase.

Whether or not cellular data is enabled really depends on how the users battery life and data allowance usually are. If the user struggles to make it through the day with their current usage it wouldn’t be ideal to allow automatic downloads. This also goes for individuals who are using close to their data limit every month.

Overall enabling automatic downloads is a good idea to keep a stable user experience especially for users with more than one iOS device.

I am not sure I’d like to automatically download stuff to my mobile. Lately it’s quite hard to find out which sites are reliable and which are not.
I can recommend my main site to download iphone apps https://www.applicationshow.com/
if you know of any other good site please suggest.
    Thanks!

And what if I don’t want downloads to my i-Phone, which is personal and has AutoDL off, going to another device/computer which is shared and has it on? Which setting has priority?
