How to Fix Logitech Mouse Problems in OS X El Capitan

Published

on

If you updated to OS X El Capitan and are having issues with your Logitech mouse not working properly, here’s how to fix Logitech mouse problems in OS X El Capitan.

El Capitan was just recently released, and while it keeps the same overall look and feel as OS X Yosemite, it arrives with a bevy of new features that users are already taking advantage of, including Spotlight Search improvements, an overhauled Notes app, swipe gestures that you can use in a handful of stock apps, and much more.

Of course, with every new version of OS X also comes a lot of problems that users come across in the first few days of installing the update. There are already a few that we’ve discovered, but more and more problems are continuously popping up.

For example, many Logitech mouse owners are complaining about a specific problem they’re having with their pointers, myself included.

logitech-mx-anywhere-2-mouse-4

Users are complaining about how their scroll wheel no longer works in OS X El Capitan. This seems to only affect newer Logitech Mice, like the MX Master and the MX Anywhere 2 that use the new Logitech Options software from the company. Luckily, the issue doesn’t seem to affect older Logitech mice, as my M705 mouse worked fine right away in OS X El Capitan.

If you’re having these issues, though, there are a couple of fixes that you can try in order to remedy the issue, one of which should do the trick.

Disconnecting and Reconnecting

Perhaps a really easy fix that you could try is unplugging the USB receiver and plugging it back in. This fixed the issue for me instantly.

logitech-mx-anywhere-2-mouse-5

However, these newer mice can utilize both USB wireless and Bluetooth, so if you’re instead using the Bluetooth functionality on your mouse and are having the scroll wheel problem, try to disconnect the mouse from Bluetooth. Even go as far as having your Mac forget the Bluetooth device and repair it completely if turning off and on the mouse doesn’t work.

Usually, this will fix the issue, but if not, there’s one more thing you can try that will most definitely remedy the problem.

Updating Logitech Options

The software that lets users customize their newer Logitech mice is called Logitech Options and it works great with OS X Yosemite. However, it’s a good idea to re-download it from Logitech’s website and re-install it to make sure you have the latest version.

Screen Shot 2015-10-02 at 2.46.09 PM

Even though the description of the latest Logitech Options version shows that it supports OS X Yosemite 10.10, there’s actually an update included for Logitech Options, bringing it to version 5.30.150. When you install this version over the older version that you most likely have installed right now, it should bring back the scroll wheel functionality and fix any other problems with Logitech mice on OS X El Capitan.

Hopefully Logitech issues an official OS X El Capitan update soon and updates the description so as not to confuse users, but that should happen soon enough, especially since the issue has been brought up on Logitech’s own community forums.

There were similar problems last year when OS X Yosemite released, where users couldn’t even download the Logitech software onto their Yosemite machines without doing a quick workaround, so we’re not too surprised by today’s problems with OS X El Capitan.

Then again, many apps and utilities should work just fine going from Yosemite to El Capitan, but software is fairly delicate, and just a slight change in the code can cause a lot of problems for app developers. Luckily, we haven’t come across too many of these kinds of issues, but it’s still rather early.

I had to plug and replug my receiver to get my old Anywhere MX (1, not 2 I assume) to be detected. Took MANY replugs.
It came up; but then some software I run to fix the scroll wheel direction (USB Overdrive) couldn’t detect the mouse.

Any time I tried to give exlusive access to the receiver to my VM it would say “Driver Failed”.

Eventually a reboot got it up and running.

So I guess the fix for most El Capitan problems will be reboot, and reboot again and reboot once more.

I tried disabling SIP to see if it affected Office 2011. It didn’t.

Maybe I should reinstall 2011 now?

    Sigh.

My Performance MX would scroll, but not move the cursor. Unplugging the receiver did the trick.

I have to unplug and plug in the USB receiver around 2-3 times a day. It’s getting super annoying…especially when I have to do it 4-5 times to get it to work. I also need to turn the mouse on and off too while I’m doing this. I wish I hadn’t installed El Capitan. :(

Just started having a problem with my MX Master’s bluetooth connectivity breaking, with the “1” connection light blinking slowly on the bottom of the mouse. Re-pairing the mouse fixes it for about 15 minutes. I’ve been on El Captitan since it was release and this is the first it’s happened. I also have a bluetooth Apple touchpad and have had zero issues with the conectivity. Using an early 2014 Mac Pro. Going to try rebooting to see if it helps.

Nothing works for the LX8 Cordless Laser Mouse. Scroll control lost. LCC 3.9.3 installed in SAFE MODE, still no help. Unplugging receiver – NO HELP. They need to fix this. They are losing customers.

I had the same problem with LX8 Cordless Laser Mouse after installing El Capitan in october 2015…. I reinstalled Yosemite and everything works fine…what a waste of time…unbelievable that there is still no fix for this issue at this time !!

Upgrading to El Capitan (on two separate computers) has affected all of my Logitech mice. I have three older Logitech mice, all USB. I tried unplugging the USB receiver (multiple times) but it doesn’t help. Tried adjusting the mouse settings in El Capitan…no good. Finally bought a Microsoft mouse which works fine.

You fix the problem by not upgrading to EL Capitan. Apple software has become progressively worse over the last three OSX generations with regard to bugs and especially with non-Apple products. This was the reason I left MS 10 years ago – product extortion. Apple has abandoned all its professional computer customers and is now on only paying attention to mobile. Good luck with that.

    02/23/2016 at 9:42 pm

It’s not Apple, it’s Logitech. They have not upgraded drivers to support their older mice and I don’t believe they intend to. My LX8 mouse stopped functioning so I bought a current model M510 then found out Logitech doesn’t support that either on El Capitan. So I ended up with MX Anywhere 2 which generally works but there remains a glitch which I am trying to resolve through Logitech support.

I was happy owner of MX Master until today, though there were no updates on my macbook. Everything works fine except that the pointer doesn’t point anything from the menus. The highlights doesn’t work, neither the auto menus. For example, first I have to click on something (to mark it) and after that to make another click. It is very annoying. I was using this mouse only by Bluetooth, and after I’ve read the previous comments, I decided to reinstall the software (Logitech Options) but without any results. Next, I decided to try the receiver, so I downloaded Unifying Software, because there was no other way to make a connection. The mouse still works and the problem still exist. Sorry for my bad English, but I really need your help!

This is the problem for me with using non Apple peripherals with Macs. I read all these rave reviews saying how marvellous this and that is and how people no longer use the Magic Mouse or whatever. Only to later read the tails of woe when suddenly the products don’t work any more. They’re not cheap pieces of kit either. Much as I don’t like the extent to which Apple updates tend to break non-Apple peripherals, I tend to stick with them as I prefer something that works, even if it isn’t ideal. No point buying a load of extra functionality if half of it stops working with the next OS update, may as well buy a $10 USB mouse.

      06/29/2017 at 12:36 pm

This is a strange idea… mice are pretty universal, and the basic functionality of mice is definitely universal. No one is asking for RGB lights and 27 button RPG mice to work. They want the mouse to MOVE. They also want ergonomic mice, and as pretty…. no, even beautiful as some Apple products are, they are NOT ergonomic in the slightest. I find it kinda fanboyish of you to assume people have made a mistake when they buy one of many many brands of high end, well designed mice (logitech and otherwise) that work without a problem with Windows and Linux, but suddenly have problems on OSX. I think it’s also odd that you’d blame those companies, and not Apple, when Apple is the one unifying factor in the problems.

      Also, Apple mice are terrible.

You are all lucky guys! My problem was bigger!
When I installed the newest Logitech Options (v. 5.40.23) my OS X El Capitan crashed! No way to start, also without extensions, not in single mode or with other tricks. I had no chance to uninstall the Logitech Options because my MacBook Pro didn’t start. Only way to get run was to reinstall from recovery partition.
This MacBook Pro was a new one without other software installed, only OS X running. I think it’s not only Apple who has the problem, this is a Logitech Problem also! I never had problems like that before! The same mouse (Master MX) runs very well on Yosemite with older and newer Mac, MacBook Pro, iMac, also with older and newer Logitech Options software. I use only bluetooth connection without the unifying usb.

Since installing El Capitan I’ve been having this issue which I haven’t seen reported elsewhere and Apple Support has been unable/unwilling to help (as usual).

I have a Logitech MX Performance mouse and occasionally it stops scrolling in menus. I assume this is an OS bug, not a Logitech bug, of course I may be mistaken.
All the mouse still functions continue to work, except that when I open a menu (including context menu), items are no longer highlighted as I move the cursor up/down. I can still click items in the menus, but hovering over items won’t open submenus or subfolders. Clicking an item or folder will open its submenu or subfolder.

I’ve been unable to find Console entries that correlate with this problem, and I never know when it will occur. The only way I’ve found to fix it is to reboot.
Two nights ago I put the computer to sleep and when I awoke the scrolling wasn’t working. Today I’ve been sitting here using the computer and when I opened a menu a little while ago it had stopped again.

I do not have LCC installed, I’ve been using USBOverdrive instead.
And I bought a Logitech keyboard and installed Logitech Options, but this issue was happening before I bought the keyboard.

I have the same problem since El Capitan. The only solution I found is to deactivate bluetooth and activate, then all works again. This happens only when I open my MacBook Pro after sleep mode, but not every time. What I know, the Logitech Unifying didn’t work with El Capitan or Yosemite, so I’m using only the onboard bluetooth from my MacBook Pro and all works fine. I have also a Logitech K811 keyboard connected via Bluetooth, no problem.
Like I wrote at 05/13/16 Logitech Unifying destroyed my OS (El Capitan). I will never again install this Unifying software!

I have used a VX Revolution Logitech mouse for many years in combination with either SteerMouse or USB Overdrive to customize all the programmable keys. Prior to El Capitan I had no problems with these various functions e.g. copy, paste, bold, underline, forward delete, volume down, volume up − all done via the VX revolution mouse. With my new computer and OS 10.11 of course i received the magic mouse but it is not very magical and I cannot program it as above. But now the Logitech works erratically. I may go back to SteerMouse and see if that solves the problem. On my MacBook Air the same Logitech Mouse works fine with Yosemite using USB Overdrive.

I agree with many of the posts above. Apple so-called upgrades to the OS have been inconvenient, expensive, time consuming, aggravating and for me there is no “wow” factor.

I installed the latest version of USB Overdrive (3.2) a few days ago and have not had any problems since.
Before I was having to reboot almost daily.

Time will tell, but my Logitech Performance MX mouse seems to work perfectly now on OS X 10.11.5.

Bob, thanks for quick reply. I am using version 3.2 of USB OverDrive so the version is not my problem. I just redownloaded SteerMouse that says it is compatible with 10.11 and so far the mouse seems to be working better.

I need to give it more time before I jump to any conclusions. Take care,
        Stephen

BOB, I seem to have the same problems as you and I too am using USB Overdrive. I will try SteerMouse and see if the problem is resolved and if so will post on this forum. The problems I am having is that I can left click on something and nothing happens and similar problems trying to mouse over text to highlight it. When I use the magic mouse (which I have never liked) it works briskly and cleanly. I deduce it is El Capitan vs USB Overdrive or El Capitan vs Logitech. The same mouse on my macbook air using SteerMouse works perfectly. But on the macbook air I have not “upgraded” to El Capitan. I will first try going back to SteerMouse on the new computer running 10.11.

What a pain in the butt.

i think USB Overdrive (3.2) will fix this issue

  26. Bob

    07/22/2016 at 9:27 am

Well it happened again and the problem always occurs in the same manner.

I first began having difficulty clicking on other windows when Exposé was activated. I’d have to click several times before one would come forward. Then I noticed my old nemesis had returned – the inability to highlight items in menus.

I know that unplugging/re-plugging the USB receiver fixes that, but I also know that within minutes of plugging it back in USBOverdrive will stop working altogether.

And as expected that’s exactly what happened, so I was forced to close Photoshop and everything else so I could reboot. Now it’s working again, temporarily.

As I’ve done so many times before, I looked through Console and found no corresponding entries.

  27. Bob

    07/22/2016 at 10:46 pm

    Happened again today.

I was using the computer, then left it on while I laid down for “a few minutes.”
Several hours later I awoke and discovered that none of the USBOverdrive functions worked.

Scrolling in menus was still functional, but none of the mouse buttons worked and the speed changes weren’t in effect.

  28. Bob

    07/23/2016 at 5:49 am

    Just happened again.

    AAARRRGGGHHH!

    • Stephen Strum

      07/23/2016 at 7:37 am

I went back to the USB Overdrive website and even though I was using version 3.2 re-downloaded it. My Logitech VX Revolution has been working fine with all the personalized commands such as copy/paste, bold/underline/ save as/scroll up/scroll down/volume up/volume down, forward delete.

My comments to those at Logitech in relation to the Logitech Control Center (LCC) is that the USER should determine what functions he wishes to ascribe to the various buttons, wheel on the mouse, and NOT Logitech. There should be NO NEED to use USB Overdrive or SteerMouse to customize the Logitech programmable mouse. This is what is blatantly wrong with companies like Logitech and Apple in not seeing the forest for the trees. The enhancements made by those that are building a better mouse trap, should be employed by the companies making the device and the OS. I should not have to be buying, year after year, apps to enhance OS 10 or a mouse. So, the mouse made by Apple, the so-called mighty mouse, is pathetic in not being functional beyond clicking and scrolling, and the far superior Logitech mice that are partially programmable without a 3rd party app should be USER programmed right out of the box without the need for a third party app. This would make Logitech wealthier and the User happier and more efficient.

Is anyone at home? Is anyone at the CEO or decision-making level ever informed of these realities?

      • Bob

        07/23/2016 at 9:20 am

I wholeheartedly agree that Apple’s rodents suck, and their keyboards aren’t much better.
A few months ago I bought a Logitech K811 keyboard and it’s SO MUCH NICER than Apple’s!

But I disagree with your assessment of a manufacturer’s duties.

Sure, it would be nice if Logitech’s software could do everything that SteerMouse or USBOverdrive can do, but Logitech is in the business of selling hardware, not software.
They provide basic software to make their products functional. In that regard Logitech is no different from many other types of manufacturers.
Besides, SteerMouse is only 20 bucks and USBOverdrive is now shareware – use it for free if you want!

I’m thankful the apps remain in the hands of third-party developers and haven’t been bought by Logitech.
That way no matter which brand of mouse you buy the apps will likely be compatible with it.
You have a Logitech now, but what if you got into gaming and bought one made by Razer or Corsair?

A lot of TVs don’t come with a built-in streaming media package, so if the user wants it they can go buy a Fire Stick, Roku Stick etc. to enhance their hardware.
Should we complain that all manufacturers should be installing all the fancy upgrades on all their TVs?
Yes, it would be great if all TVs included it, but not everyone wants it or can use it (no Internet) and by not including it they’re able to keep the prices lower.

What about vehicles? Should we complain that most vehicles don’t come with GPS, alarms and Bose stereo systems?
The manufacturers provide a working vehicle (usually), and the owner can then purchase accessories if they desire.

          07/23/2016 at 9:59 am

A short reply. Companies, be they Logitech or Apple, would ↑ their sales by making their product more user usable. Just as car makers are now adding all kinds of software to make the vehicle more “drivable” the same thing with Logitech and its LCC. If you are going to have a control center to customize programming, then make it customizable for the user, not someone at Logitech. For me, I do not give a rodent’s butt about minor costs, but for me time/efficiency is crucial. That’s the point I thought I was making but that you did not understand. Everyone, Logitech, Apple, etc wins when they make a better mousetrap (no pun intended)

          • Bob

            07/23/2016 at 10:20 am

I really don’t think anyone is NOT buying Logitech products because their software doesn’t do 100% of everything they wished it did (it didn’t stop you or I). So I doubt they’d gain any customers at all by offering a few more options.
When you need a mouse you need a mouse. What are the alternatives? Another crapple mouse, or some lame off-brand without all the buttons of the Logitech? With either of those you lose a LOT more functionality, so Logitech is still the better choice.

That’s like saying that Apple would gain customers if they included Toast, Photoshop and Final Cut as part of the OS.
            Not likely.
Mac people will still buy the platform regardless. The vast majority have no need for the extra software and Apple would have to jack up the price of the computer to compensate for the added cost.

Some help…my Logitech M705 works with the El Capitain update but certain functions are creating issues. It doesn’t recognize the right click feature and when clicking on items (left button) it does a double-click action. Becoming very difficult to navigate certain actions and programs with these problems.

    Any suggestions?

A few days ago I completely removed all traces of USBOverdrive 3.1 (including receipts).
Than installed v3.2 and it was working up till an hour ago when it abruptly quit while I was using the mouse buttons.

Still scrolls in menus but no programmed button functions work anymore.
No trace of anything USB related in Console.

When this happens the mouse entry disappears from the USBO Status window, but my keyboard and USB speakers are still shown (even though USBO doesn’t interact with them).
Unplugging the mouse’s USB receiver doesn’t help.

Why isn’t there some way to diagnose the problem? Since no Console messages are posted, that’s out.
But there should be things to try – Terminal commands to reactivate a disabled driver or something.

I just sent the new owner (Senlick.com) an email.

As shitty as it sounds, I’m happy to know others are experiencing similar problems.
Mouse skitters around inconsistently, cannot drop files, freezes apps etc etc. soon as I unplug the mouse issue stop.

    Took awhile to isolate…

    08/09/2016 at 6:41 pm

Well then it should make you absolutely giddy to know I’ve also had the file-dropping problem.

It doesn’t happen often but has happened several times.
If you’re talking about files hanging onto the the cursor even after you let go of the button, and through right-clicks and pressing the Escape button.

Guess I’ll have to break out 20 bucks for a new version of Steermouse eventually.
They have a beta version 5 out now (not compatible with Sierra yet).

the old performance mx performs horribly on el capitan here. it has constant drop outs in the sense that i move the mouse and the cursor goes in another direction. i tried the newest logitech software and the latest options update crashed my whole system. some logitech kext did not work anymore which rendered my system unable to boot. that here gave me the support for get my system running again > https://www.justinsilver.com/technology/os-x-el-capitan-10-11-1-hanging-on-boot-fixed/. logitech sucks. those are old already addressed issues!!! i guess i have to ditch the old crap for some newer mouse – none logitech of course

    • Bob

      10/06/2016 at 10:54 am

I’m not convinced there really is a problem with OS X 10.11. I’ve moved up through the versions and am now on 10.11.6.

I haven’t encountered any issues that I could definitively say were caused by the OS. I don’t know if the stop-scrolling-in-menus problem is caused by the OS or USBOverdrive, but I’m blaming USBO because of other issues related to it, like when all the mouse buttons suddenly stop working until I reboot.

I don’t have any Logitech crapware installed because it never worked right anyway – no on-screen notifications.
      Why are you using it?

If you’re using a desktop, have you tried relocating the receiver? Of course if you’re using a MacBook that’s not possible unless it’s plugged into a hub. My cursor works as it should except when the receiver is plugged into the back of my Mini, then sometimes it gets erratic. So I leave it plugged into a hub that sits in front of the Mini and that works pretty good until I get one of those “USB devices have been disabled ” notifications. Then it’s as if I’d unplugged the receiver and the buttons stop working so I must reboot.

As long as I reboot every 2 days or so, I don’t experience the USBO problems often. Longer than that and I can be assured that USBO will be failing soon. But then sometimes it will fail within a few hours of being rebooted, so you never know when it’s going to stop functioning. I should just spend the $$ to buy Steermouse.

After posting my last message, I discovered that whenever I unplug the receiver, USBOverdrive immediately stops working until I reboot.

I am using a Logitech VX Revolution + iMac running El Capitan (10.11.6) and USB Overdrive. I have no problems and my VX is programmed to do copy, paste, volume up & down, bold and underline, forward delete. Once I had a problem that was solved by just putting in a new mouse battery. That’s it. I also have tried Steermouse but I find the USB Overdrive to work better. My receiver for the VX Revolution is placed into my iMac keyboard and it is inches away from the mouse pad.
What amazes me about all of this is how Apple can come up with OS upgrades almost every year but still make a “mighty mouse” that does very little insofar as functional buttons. Between the VX Revolution, USB Overdrive and my robotic software app (TextExpander), I am incredibly more efficient than 98% of other computer users. Apple just does not seem very innovative since Jobs passed away. If I were CEO of Apple I would have replaced the not so mighty mouse with a functional mouse that had the software to program multiple keys. I am not a lover of the trackpad and “gestures”.

I believe you estimate of 98% more efficient is very overly-optimistic.
First of all, your mouse is set up for text, so I’d say you’re LESS efficient than users who primarily browse and whose whose mice are set up for that purpose.
I use the back/forward buttons hundreds of times a day. You’d either have to scroll all the way up to the toolbar each time to click, or use a hand to press a shortcut. I can do it in a split-second.

And TextExpander is just text software – you may think it’s cool, but it has nothing to do with robotics.

You obviously do a lot more text editing than me – my primary use is browsing .
I have a Performance MX. The thumb button is ⌘+Tab to switch to the last-used app and the scroll-wheel click refreshes the page. The back/forward buttons are just that.

Apple peripherals get little consideration for functionality. Aesthetics are obviously their primary concern – they want them to be sleek and different, regardless of how useless they may be. I’m always surprised that ANYONE uses Apple rodents except for maybe children, which have no choice.

For years users have clamored for a backlit keyboard, and Apple has ignored them – too busy tweaking the iPhone to care or come up with new products anymore. Apple’s innovation died with Jobs – the Watch was a failure.

The Logitech K811 keyboard I bought last year is a helluva lot better than the Apple one I was using before.
And it has a motion sensor to turn on the backlight when my hands are near!

I’d like to try some of the better vertical mice on the market, but since they are virtually impossible to find in retailers that means ordering them before I can try them and that’s not something I’m willing to do until I begin having carpal tunnel issues.

I have the same behaviour here. USB Overdrive 3.3 didn’t fix it either… ;(

Hey, but what for you are using Logitech BT dongle having BT in your Mac??
I’m using MXA 2 with built-n BT and the only thing i had to do is to turn off “waking up by BT device” in BT preferences. It solved my problem with hanging login screen. Now everything is fine after wake-up… ANyway – Apple, could do something with this sick behavior…

I also have a problem some of you seem to be having after upgrading to El Cap – I’m using a Logitech Performance MX + USB Overdrive. It generally works fine. However, if I disconnect the USB mouse receiver (say to take my laptop to a different room), when I plug it back in, USB Overdrive never sees the mouse again, and doesn’t regain control over it. (The device is no longer visible in USB Overdrive’s device status window).

The mouse still works, but obviously all the scroll & acceleration behaviour is wrong as it’s now handled by the system. The only thing that gets it back under control of USB Overdrive is to reboot. :(

Disconnecting and reconnecting the USB received worked fine in all previous OSX versions, USB Overdrive regained control over the mouse once it was available again. But under El Cap, the mouse never again shows up in USB Overdrive once the receiver has been unplugged.

Two weeks ago I uninstalled USBOverdrive and installed Steermouse.
It has performed better, but has some glitches.

Sometimes the mouse settings just stop working and I must open the pref pane to restart ’em.
But that’s still better than rebooting.

Yesterday I installed an Apple security update that required restarting.
After booting, Steermouse was nonfunctional. I opened the pref pane but it didn’t help.
Then I tried the Reconfigure button and that got things going again.

It’s nice to have the option back to auto-move the cursor to a button in a dialog box.
    USBOverdrive is missing that feature.

Steermouse doesn’t have an option to wake the display when the cursor moves – you must click a button.
I used to nudge the mouse slightly when I returned, and the screensaver would stop.No big deal.
This also means the screensaver won’t stop if you accidentally bump the desk and the mouse moves.

It takes some tinkering to get the cursor acceleration and sensitivity adjusted satisfactorily.

One big plus is that unplugging the mouse’s USB receiver no longer disables the settings until rebooted.

All things considered, it has been an improvement, but not perfect.

My problem is the exact opposite. The scroll and left click work seamlessly. The point works periodically, stops working after every 5th time i turn on my computer or so. I have the latest software for mac os and logitech.

VERY frustrating. None of the fixes above work, making my mouse useless.

I have experienced this, probably daily on a 2016 MBP using a MX Master. Unfortunately, this is my favorite mouse, even with some of the issues that I’m experiencing such as this. I expect that a reboot will always fix the problem (it has for me), but that is beyond inconvenient most of the time.

Better Touch Tool is something that I have used in the past to improve functionality in macOS/OSX as I used to find that mice in general in OSX were pretty terrible, until El Capitan, which has now presented this problem. To rectify, I’ve been able to successfully update most of my mouse functions using that tool, and in addition, it adds some much needed customizable functionality to the TouchBar found on recent hardware. I believe the software has a free trial and requires a donation to unlock fully. It was well worth it to me back when I originally needed it. While it’s only a workaround, it at least eliminates some of the frustration.

OMG!, thank you so much for this article. in depth and led me right to the solution. My old M510 had the customized buttons set but when I bought a new one it never worked. But you had that link to logitech options and all was well in the world again. Our whole studio is running in tip top shape again. THANK YOU!!!!

The M510 stopped working after upgrade to 10.12 (Sierra). Even the latest Logitech options software did not solve the problem. Finally tried USBOverdrive, but that software did not find all the buttons. Then tried SteerMouse and this software did find all the buttons and all is well. Took a little effort to get SteerMouse configured.

I recently purchased a Logitech M705, to be used on a Mac, software 10.13.6.
When first using M705, I had issues, with the pointer simply not working correctly.
However, the lastest software download (6.94.38) resolved this issue, at least for the time being.
