What’s New in iOS 8.4

Apple Music Streaming

Apple Music Streaming

The new Apple Music app includes the new Apple Music streaming service designed to take on Spotify, Pandora and other services. The iOS 8.4 update enables this new app and includes a free three-month trial of the Apple Music service.

With Apple Music you can pay $9.99 a month for an individual or $14.99 a month for a family of up to six members and enjoy full albums on demand and save music for offline playback.

Apple Music uses your musical tastes to pick new music that you might enjoy listening to in a new For You section of the music app that will help you find new music to listen to. The video above shows how this works.

This new app replaces the Music app from iOS 8 and earlier. Apple is not adding another app you cannot install from the iPhone or iPad, just updating one that is already on your device.

I have problems installing iOS 8.4. Downloaded the update but a message of “unable to install error occurred” keeps popping up. Phone is plugged in and now fully charged. I cannot update through iTunes as it says my software is updated. I checked and version still 12H4098c (I’m on beta). Please help.

Ok, not sure if you need help due to the date of your post, but I’ll take the time anyways so maybe it will help you or anybody else having this issue. Here’s what I just did…
Back up your iPhone before attempting this..

Go to… https://ipsw.me/all and find firmware “iPhone7,2_8.4_12H143” for your device and download it.
Once downloaded, go to iTunes with your phone connected, turn off Find My iPhone and remove your passcode.
Hold the option key and click “Check for update”.
navigate to where you downloaded the file and select it.
      follow the prompts
I received an error stating The session ID couldn’t be found, which made me nervous(lol), but all went well and the firmware in my settings is what I installed. I did not have to do a restore for my data. The update was quick, I stepped away for 5/6 minutes and it was done.

Same problem here. I also tried using iTunes, holding the option key so I can manually select the install file I downloaded and I get an error saying unable to restore to this build version…
