How to Take a Screenshot on the LG G7

Published

on

In this quick guide we’ll show you how to take a screenshot on the LG G7 ThinQ. This basic but popular feature is available on every phone, and each company offers a few different ways to do it. Along with multiple tools to make screen grabs even more useful.

With the LG G7, you actually have a few different ways to take a screenshot. Whether it’s the button combination below or a dedicated icon on your screen for easy access. Here’s how to get started.

How to Take a Screenshot on the LG G7

  • Press and Hold the Volume Down and Power button (fingerprint scanner) at the same time, then let go
  • You will see and hear the screenshot capture
  • Now use the toolbar at the bottom of the screen to Share, Edit, or capture a Scrolling Screenshot

What makes this a little different or difficult on the LG G7 is you don’t have a physical power button on the side of the phone. Instead, the fingerprint scanner acts as the power button. So, you have to press the fingerprint scanner down (as a button) and volume down at the same. This will probably take both hands on the LG G7.

When you take a screenshot (or screencap, screengrab) you’ll see it, hear it, and get a notification in the notification bar as shown below. This is a fast and easy way to capture and share anything on your screen. And no your screenshot will NOT have the notch in it.

Capture+ Button for Screenshots on the LG G7

That’s not the only way to take a screenshot on the LG G7 though. You actually can add a dedicated button to the phone so you can easily and quickly take shots on the fly. Head to Settings > Display > Home Touch Buttons > Button combinations > and add Capture+ to your on-screen buttons. Now, there’s a dedicated icon on the bottom of your screen for screenshots, as you can see in our screenshot above.

Basically, you can add the Capture+ button to the bottom of the screen next to the back and home keys. Personally, we keep this disabled, so it doesn’t get in the way.

In closing, start enjoying all that your LG G7 has to offer. Save important emails, text messages, or funny photos directly off your screen by taking a screenshot. Before you go, here are 10 LG G7 cases we recommend, and some excellent screen protectors too. Try one today.

This article doesn’t make any sense. You claim that the phone doesn’t have a physical power button but it does and it is even in the photo you’ve used. Who wrote this? A third grader?
