How to Take a Screenshot on the OnePlus 6

on

In this guide we’ll explain how to take a screenshot on the OnePlus 6. This very basic feature is available on every phone, but each company does things slightly different and adds extras to make the screenshot process more useful.

With the OnePlus 6, you actually have three different options, including things like taking a scrolling screenshot. Here’s how to do it.

How to Take a Screenshot on the OnePlus 6

  • Press and Hold the Volume Down and Power button at the same time, then let go
  • You will see and hear the screenshot capture
  • Now use the toolbar at the bottom of the screen to Share, Edit, or capture a Scrolling Screenshot

When you take a screenshot (or screencap, screengrab) you’ll see it, hear it, and get a notification in the notification bar. You can instantly tap near the bottom left in the pop-up toolbar to share the screenshot. This is a fast and easy way to capture and share anything on your screen. And no your screenshot will NOT have the notch in it.

Additionally, click the pencil edit button for a full set of tools to customize the image. This is perfect for sharing funny photos, circling text in an email or drawing on images.

How to Take a Scrolling Screenshot on the OnePlus 6

OnePlus also offers a scrolling screenshot, and it’s really neat. This basically takes continuous screenshots until you stop it yourself. Allowing you to easily capture an entire webpage, text conversation, email, and more than just what’s on your screen at any given moment.

  • Press and Hold the Volume Down and Power button at the same time, then let go
  • You will see and hear the screenshot capture
  • Tap on Scrolling Screenshot on the bottom right side of the pop-up toolbar (rectangle phone icon)
  • The phone will scroll automatically and continuously take screenshots
  • Tap the screen to stop

You have to tap on the screen to stop this feature. If you don’t, it will stop automatically at the end of the page, or once the device meets the maximum file size limit.

How to Use the OnePlus 6 Screenshot Gesture

Last but not least, and just like Samsung, OnePlus offers a screenshot gesture that’s easier than holding down a few buttons. Turn it on in settings, then swipe a few fingers to quickly capture anything on your screen.

  • Head to Settings from the app tray, or by pulling down the notification bar and tapping the gear-shaped settings button
  • Find and select Gestures
  • Turn On the Three-finger Screenshot Gesture
  • Now, just swipe down on the screen with three fingers to take a screenshot

Now just head to the Gallery on your phone and you’ll find a new Screenshots folder with all your screenshots. This is a helpful feature and tool, and now you know all three ways to do it on your OnePlus 6. While you’re here, grab a case from our roundup of the 10 best OnePlus 6 cases.
