HTC Flyer Honeycomb Update Rolling Out Now

Published

on

At the beginning of December, HTC rolled out the Android Honeycomb update for the GSM version of its HTC Flyer tablet. At the same time, the company promised that it would be rolling out the Honeycomb update for the Wi-Fi only version of the device and sure enough, those who own a tablet of that flavor have begun to see the Android 3.2 update arrive.

In addition, it appears, according to Phandroid, that those in the U.S. who own the GSM version are also beginning to see the update as well. If you recall, December’s roll out was limited to those living in European countries.

Obviously this is great news for those of you who bought HTC’s tablet earlier this year, a tablet that we thoroughly enjoyed.

HTC promised that the update would bring a number of fixes and enhancements including the latest version of HTC Sense for Tablet which includes enhanced Internet browsing, Mail, Calendar, and more, all optimized for the tablet’s 7-inch screen.

HTC Flyer

Of course now, HTC Flyer owners are going to be turning their attention to another update that may or may not be coming at some point in the future. That update of course is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Google’s latest and greatest operating system.

And while the company has confirmed the software for a multitude of devices, none of them are called HTC Flyer. That doesn’t mean that it won’t be coming so don’t fret just yet but seeing as though Honeycomb has just rolled out, don’t expect it to roll out tomorrow.

Still, we’d keep those fingers crossed.
