HTC M8 Leak Reveals Dual Camera, No Fingerprint Scanner

Published

With a Mobile World Congress reveal quickly approaching later this month, more leaks and details have continued to surface about many phones, including the often-hyped HTC M8 flagship.

Following on the success of last year HTC is poised to release an all new HTC One currently being called the M8, or HTC Two. Although piles of leaks have rumored its specs, including a fingerprint scanner like the iPhone 5C, this weekend we received more images confirming no such features will be on board. Instead, HTC could employ a new dual-camera setup on the rear for improved photography and Facebook photos.

Now that we know nearly everything about the phone already, including that it will likely be announced at the end of February, we just need to firm up the last few details. Today’s leak is doing just that by giving us an up close photo of the actual smartphone laying face-down. This shows us the Ultrapixel camera on the back, dual-LED system, and that new second camera circle up top. For months this was called a fingerprint scanner for TouchID like security features and unlocking, but that doesn’t appear to be the case anymore.

Spotted by the popular blog NoWhereElse we’re getting a perfect look at the dual cameras on the rear, which will likely help with low-light photography and post processing, but they also managed to get some photos of the front. Two of which confirm the other major rumor, which is on-screen buttons.

The photo above is of the new on-screen buttons, which turn when the phone is in portrait or landscape mode, showing a big change for HTC who’s stuck to dedicated capacitive touch buttons in the recent past. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the onscreen keys or the camera around back, but it’s the best evidence yet that this is what we’ll get come release date.

This new HTC M8 is expected to have a 5-inch 1080p HD display, quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a micro-SD card for expansion, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and the new Sense UI 6.0 on board all with a better camera, bigger battery, and much more.

Latest reports still have a February announcement with a late March release date for the new smartphone.

I quit working at shoprite to work online and with a little effort I easily bring in around $45 to 85 per/h. Without a doubt this is the easiest and most financially rew. job I’ve ever had. I actually started 6 months ago and this has totally changed my life. Here’s what I do http://www.cashkept.com
