HTC One Deals Land at Sam’s Club for AT&T and Sprint

Published

on

The brand new HTC One for AT&T is on sale at local Sam’s Club mobile phone kiosks for about $175 with a new two-year contract. Current AT&T customers can also upgrade if they’re eligible and willing to extend their commitment for another two years.

This represents one of the best out-the-door prices we’ve seen for the new Android smartphone released this month. However, Sprint customers can snag the phone for $150 if they buy online. That’s the lowest price we’ve seen anywhere without a rebate.

The HTC One earned our Editor’s Choice Award as one of the top new phones released in 2013. The phone comes with a metal housing that reminds us more of the high quality material used to make the Apple iPhone instead of the cheaper feeling plastic that is found on most Android smartphones. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 will ship with a plastic casing like its predecessor.

Get the HTC One for about $175 at local Sam’s Club kiosks or $150 on their website.

Fans of the iPhone who prefer AT&T should hurry over to their local Sam’s Club to check out the HTC One Android smartphone. The customer service person we talked to at the Hickory, NC Sam’s Club said her store only received two phones. The AT&T model of the phone costs nearly $200 when purchased online at the store’s website.

The HTC One costs even less when buyers opt for the Sprint model and buy online at Sams Club’s site instead of in the local store. They can get the HTC One for around $150.

Either price will tempt people interested in getting a new Android smartphone. We’ve seen the same phone at Radio Shack for $199, with a $50 Google Play Store credit for games, movies, magazines and books. The effective price becomes $150 factoring in the credit. However, a buyer will still need to fork over a full $200 plus tax and the activation fee for the wireless carrier. If a user doesn’t want to buy at Sam’s Club, maybe because they don’t wish to pay the Sam’s Club annual membership fee or can’t find a store nearby, we offer a few other places to get the new phone.

We think buyers should consider this phone compared to others like the iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S4 and a cheaper phone like the currently available Samsung Galaxy S3. We like the HTC One because of the following features:

  • Excellent metal casing design
  • Beautiful 4.7-inch HD display
  • Top-flight hardware performance
  • Great camera
  • HTC Sense 5

Users who find the following traits important might want to think twice about the HTC One, since it comes up a bit short in these areas

  • No expandable storage
  • No replaceable battery
  • No Android 4.2

The HTC One is also available at T-Mobile, though Sam’s Club is not offering that model.

Nokia slams HTC One and gets it banned. HTC can’t catch a break really.

The best deal is from @Newegg for $129, but you have to wait for them to come in: https://wireless.newegg.com/eCommerce/SpecialOffer.aspx?cid=35159_9c399ae61d344aefb455ce9f97c5a551&showcustblock=true Since they are going through Simplixity just like Sams and Walmart, depending on these “vendors” pecking order, you may get it later rather than sooner: Simplixity is not saying when their shipment is coming in or when they will have stock.
