HTC ThunderBolt Random Reboot Fix Coming Later This Month

Published

on

Last we heard about the HTC ThunderBolt random reboot fix was that HTC and Verizon were cognizant of the issue and that they were working together in order to swiftly get out a fix. Well, two weeks later we still don’t have a fix for the issue but it appears that it could be rolling out at some point in the next couple of weeks.

HTC ThunderBolt

According to a leaked internal document, Verizon is preparing to get the fix out to ThunderBolt owners at some point in the latter half of June. Seeing as it’s only June 8th, that means we are at least a few weeks away from seeing the update roll out which means that those of you who are experiencing the problem are going to have to keep on trucking.

You’ll also see here confirmation about Verizon’s policy of handing out replacement devices for those that are seeing the issue. Of course, the replacement device is going to be a CLNR (certified like new replacement) but it’s a new phone that won’t be rebooting all the time.

For those that would rather not go this route, well, then you’re just going to have to be patient.

No word on Gingerbread which was due by the end of the month so I am assuming it will not hit the Q2 time frame.

Seriously, we have to wait for this patch and it isn’t even going to be the Gingerbread update!?  My phone just restarted on me mid-call.  This is so stupid.

Is there gonna be a GPS fix also ? For a high end smarphone this is Bullcrap !!!!! My location has been off since then and it’s very aggrivating since I use GPS quite a bit for work. VZW should credit our monthly bills somewhat for the inconveniance.

This is some bullshit. I saved up and paid $604…to be aggravated? I’m here now as a few moments ago I was reviewing a text before sending and the screen went black as it rebooted. I use my phone for music at work playing pandora radio. It rebooted a good 5 or 6 times in maybe 3 hours. Really annoying as I have to find a stopping point before I can start pandora back up. Actually it’s idiotic that I have to. Where is the damn fix?

Seriously, when is the damn patch coming? I’m so close to slamming this $604 phone into the concrete as hard as humanly possible. I bet it wont bother me then
