IM+ Is Perfect Way to Bring Gtalk to iPhone 4S w/ Push Notifications

Published

If like me, you are picking up your first iPhone after years of using Android, you may be wondering how to take your Google Talk experience with you.

By default, Google Talk on the iPhone is only within your web browser. This means no notifications and a subpar experience.

Thankfully IM+ is the perfect Google Talk tool for the iPhone.

In honor of the iPhone 4S launch, IM+ is on sale for $5.99, down from $9.99 for a limited time.

If you don’t want the full version, you can get the light version for free, but you will have ads and will need to open the app more often to keep push notifications active.

IM+ supports many IM clients in addition to Google Talk. Supported services include, MSN, Facebook, Skype, Yahoo!, AIM, Jabber, ICQ, VKontakte, Yandex Chat, MySpace and you can even use Twitter in IM+.

I have been using the IM+ lite app on my iPad for a week now and with this sale, I will be upgrading to the full version of IM+ so that I can get notifications on my iPhone.

That solves one of my concerns of switching from Android to iPhone. Now if only I could find a way to get priority inbox notifications.

Do you have a favorite instant messaging app for the iPhone? Share with the rest of us in the comments below.

IMO is so much better than IM+. And it’s free, no ads. Don’t waste your money on IM+.

Thank you people for feed back. I was almost returning my new iphone4s and get Droid Bionic because of google talk. Now, with IM+, I can receive all texts from google talk even the phone is in sleep mode. Thanks to IM+
