How Long Will the iOS 11.3 Update Take?
We don't know the exact size, but the iOS 11.3 update will probably be much bigger than iOS 11.2.6.
The latest iOS 11.3 beta is a sizable download and we expect the final version of the update to command a nice chunk of free space.
iOS 11.3 is a milestone upgrade with a long list of changes so it'll be bigger than your standard bug fixer. iOS 11.2.6 is just 41MB for the iPhone X and we expect iOS 11.3 to be much larger.
You can expect iOS 11.3 to take a minute or so to download over high speed Wi-Fi and 5+ minutes to install on your device. Your exact download and installation time will be based on your device and your current version of iOS.
If you're upgrading from older software like iOS 11.2 or iOS 10, your iOS 11.3 installation will take a little bit longer because it'll include features and fixes from the iOS updates you missed.
Once you download iOS 11.3 to your phone, you'll notice a prompt asking you to "Install" the software right now or "Later."
Most of you will want to install the software right after it downloads, but some of you might benefit from scheduling the iOS 11.3 installation.
If you choose to schedule the update you can choose to install it while you're asleep or you can simply have your device remind you to install the iOS 11.3 update at a later date, perhaps sometime when you have more time on your hands.
If you do decide to install the software overnight, you'll need to plug the device in to a power source.
