Get Excited About Automatic Wi-Fi Sharing w/ Friends

iOS 11 features a bunch of automation and one of our favorites is the ability to share the password to a Wi-Fi network with friends nearby.

How many times have you had a guest/co-worker ask for the Wi-Fi password? Quite a few, probably. And how many times have you a) forgotten your password b) had to repeat yourself to the person c) had to take the phone from them to manually input your complicated password? If that sounds like you, you'll love this feature.

If your guest(s) is running iOS 11, and the device doesn't know the local Wi-Fi password, devices that do know the password will try to help.

So let's say we have an iPhone 6s on iOS 11 that's already on the Wi-Fi network. A friend with an iPhone 7 on iOS 11 wants to join the network. When the friend brings the device close to ours, a pop-up card will display on the iPhone 6s that says the iPhone 7 is trying to join the network.

With a single tap you can send the Wi-Fi password over-the-air to the iPhone 7. The password will instantly populate and the device should successfully connect.

No more looking at the back of the router for the password. No more hassle.
