If you own an older device and an Apple Watch, there's reason to be disappointed.

Apple announced its new watchOS 4 alongside iOS 11 at WWDC 2017. watchOS 4 is focused on intelligence and fitness and it's looking like a solid upgrade for Apple's wearable. There's a slight problem though.

The company's new watchOS 4 will likely require a device capable of running iOS 11, similar to how watchOS 3 requires a device running iOS 10.

If you pair an iPhone 5 with an Apple Watch, you should start preparing for a life on iOS 10 and Apple's watchOS 3.
