Apple
iOS 12 Release: 5 Reasons to Get Excited & 2 Not To
Potential Face ID Improvements
A new report from Japanese blog Mac Otakara sheds some light on an additional feature that could please those planning to buy this year's flagship iPhone or the rumored iPad Pro 2018. The site claims the iOS 12 update will include improvements to the Face ID security system Apple debuted on the iPhone X last year. Specifically, Face ID on iOS 12 will let users unlock a device when it's held at a horizontal angle. The system is current limited to the vertical orientation. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, horizontal Face ID support is apparently designed for Apple's upcoming iPad Pro models. If it works on iPads, it could very well work on devices like the iPhone 11 and the current iPhone X.
