iOS 6 Jailbreak: 5 Reasons We Can’t Wait

Published

on

As hackers continue to work on the iOS 6 jailbreak we want to share why iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S users can’t wait for the next jailbreak release.

An iPhone 5 jailbreak, or the iOS 6 jailbreak, would allow iPhone owners to do more with their devices than Apple allows.

While users who jailbreak iOS 6 can install pirated apps, the majority of the jailbreak community is simply looking to install tweaks and mods to make the iPhone fit their usage better. The back and forth fighting over iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 jailbreaks led to one hacker calling for an open iOS 7.

Upgrade to the iPhone 5 & iOS 6

It may seem odd to users who have never used a jailbreak, but there are iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S owners waiting to upgrade until there is an iPhone 5 jailbreak.

Switch to Android from iPhone Jailbreak

Without an iOS 6 jailbreak, some users are looking at Android.

These users often already use a lot of jailbreak apps and don’t want to give up their favorite apps, tweaks and mods for the latest iPhone.

The number of lost sales isn’t likely high enough to concern Apple, but for these users, the wait is especially grueling.

There are also a number of iPhone 4S owners still on iOS 5.1.1 waiting for the iOS 6 jailbreak release to upgrade to iOS 6. iOS 6 offers features like Do Not Disturb, Facebook and Twitter Integration, Enhanced iCloud and many more iOS 6 features.

Cydia Apps

Access to high-quality Cydia apps is another major reason users can’t wait to get the iPhone. There are a number of apps that allow users to pick a default browser, use Google Voice easier on the iPhone and more.

BiteSMS is a popular replacement messaging app that is now compatible with iOS 6. Check out the benefits of biteSMS and an iOS 6 jailbreak in the video below.

iPhone Themes

With the iOS 6 jailbreak, users can customize the look of the iPhone. Many of these themes will need updated for the larger iPhone 5 display once an iPhone 5 jailbreak is available, but we expect quick updates

iPhone 5 jailbreak theme

The Typophone4 is a jailbreak theme we would love to see on the iPhone 5.

The image above shows the typophone4 theme on the iPhone 4, which completely changes the iPhone home screen. There are other themes that change the iPhone to look like OS X, Windows or Android.

A Better App Switcher

Technically Auxo falls under the better apps in Cydia reason, but this app switcher is so good that it is reason alone to jailbreak the iPhone 5. Auxo is an app switcher that uses cards instead of the app icons, offer fast app ending and quick access to music and to iPhone settings.

The video above shows off these features, is a tempting display of what users can do with a jailbroken iPhone.

Easy, Legal and Safe

In addition to all the cool things you can do with the iOS 6 jailbreak, one of the best parts is that the process is legal and if it follows the past jailbreaks, it will also be easy and safe.

iPhone 4s jailbreak

Look for a similar, easy to use tool for the iOS 6 jailbreak.

It is completely legal to jailbreak the iPhone 5 and all other iPhones. That doesn’t mean Apple approves of it or makes jailbreaking easy, but you won’t get in trouble for doing it. Apple will void your warranty if you seek service on a jailbroken iPhone, but it is easy to un-jailbreak the iPhone before taking it in for service.

Whenever the iPhone 5 jailbreak is released we expect a tool similar to the Absinthe tool released to jailbreak the iPhone 4S last year.

have to wonder, why it needs to be hacked to get it to work the way the user wants it to work. if you have to do all that, is it still worth the problems of hacking the an IOS device every time a new update arrives?

iOS is designed for the professional consumer. Someone who is a professional in their field and doesn’t want to have to mess with setting, variations, or anything else then having it just “work”.

However hackers are also professionals and while having something just work is “nice” really they enjoy tweaking their phones.

Finally you have the consumer neither professional or hacker but benefits from both. The consumer may eventually decide to get the phone unlocked so they can get free apps. Otherwise the phone just work for them.

Since iOS is used by so many people and is the best phone out there right now, then yes it is worth it to wait and it is worth it to hack it as new updates arrive.

The question becomes, how could it be great, when you need to find workarounds to get the functionality it lacks? A device that leaves you felling that something was left out of this version of the build is not the best, but the best for this season, until they make the next best phone. I own an Ipad 4th gen, love it, but walked into the store knowing that it had limitations that I could not overcome, so I am content using it for the few limited tasks, the right tool for the job.

I don’t understand jail breaking Iphones. Why not get a Google phone that already has everything you are trying to get by jail breaking?

Because there are tweaks and add-ons that I can’t find on Android phones…plus you avoid all of the malware and cheap plastic

Google phone… It’s a great idea. However its missing one thing. Customer support. When that thing breaks, theres no “Google phone” store that I can physically take my device to. In my city, there are 4 apple stores that I can go to for help. Not to mention their new warranty has a provision where they’ll fix my device even if damage is caused directly by me.

So when I jailbreak my device and screw it up, I have two turns at getting it fixed. All a consumer has to do is play stupid and you’ll get your way. Or if I crack my screen (which will probably happen first) they’ll still fix it. Until Google offers the same service, I say stick with Apple.

Never read so much rubbish regarding jailbreak news. The general public, aren’t waiting to upgrade to an iPhone 5 purely because no jailbreak solution is available… Most don’t even know what a jailbreak is. Installous is no longer available… So no… it’s not being used for piracy, it’s simply used to give iPhone users more freedom over their phone.

I just jail broke my iPhone 5 with the help of an online blog but I am still not able to run the Cydia apps on it. I also feel that sometimes it gets too slow. Should I reset it and try again?

    Regards
