Apple was rumored to have an iOS 7.0.1 update in testing and it now appears that the iOS 7.0.1 update will be ready and waiting for iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C users on their Friday release date.

Prior to the iOS 7 release date, rumors suggested that Apple was testing not only iOS 7.0.1 but also the iOS 7.1 update ahead of the iOS 7 update’s arrival. Those rumors hinted at a swift iOS 7.0.1 release date and unsurprisingly, it looks like Apple is ready to deliver iOS 7.0.1 to iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C owners this Friday.

9to5Mac discovered a listing for iOS 7.0.1 buried within Apple’s update XML, and something that confirms the imminent release of an iOS 7.0.1 update. It appears that the update will be heading to iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C owners who pick up or receive the devices on Friday and it looks like the update will attempt to fix an issue with Touch ID and iTunes purchases. Touch ID of course is the feature that is paired with the iPhone 5S’ new fingerprint reader, embedded in the home button.

Direct download links for the iOS 7.0.1 update have been discovered as well, something that all but confirms an arrival this Friday for owners of Apple’s new iPhones. iOS 7.0.1 will likely skip owners of Apple’s other iPhones and iPads and could mean that they skip to iOS 7.0.2 in just a few weeks.

Apple typically releases a new version of its major iOS updates a few weeks after the initial release to tackle some of the more visible bugs that users discover. So far, iOS 7 appears to have been a relatively bug free release though issues will likely emerge in the days ahead.

Apple began taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5C on September 13th ahead of its September 20th release date. Apple neglected to offer iPhone 5S pre-orders, instead, it will start taking pre-orders at midnight on Friday.

Apple Stores and carrier stores will be open early to accommodate those that don’t want to stay up late and order. The iPhone 5S will reportedly be in short supply at retail stores as Apple works to get through its supply issues.

There’s a lot of bugs on the iPod touch 5G. It’s also really slow and laggy. What’s up apple???

I’m having the same issue, it lags a lot when rotating the device and while switching wallpapers. A simple fix is to go into settings and turn on Increase Contrast in Settings>General>Accessibility. This turns off the transparency effects, but it makes the OS a lot smoother.
