iOS 7.0.3 Update Release Tipped as Imminent

Published

on

Rumor has it, the iOS 7.0.3 release date is at hand with whispers suggesting that the software will be heading out to device owners sometime next week ahead of the rumored arrival of the iPad mini 2, iPad 5 and quite possibly, iOS 7.1, an update that may roll out with Apple’s new iPad lineup.

Last month, Apple unleashed the iOS 7 update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, an update that not only brought new features to Apple’s mobile users, but a new look as well. iOS 7 represents a drastic change from iOS 6 and all previous versions of the software as it introduces a flatter user interface, more vibrant colors and overhauled core applications including camera.

Shortly after its arrival, Apple released the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, devices that were accompanied by the iOS 7.0.1 update, an update aimed at fixing a few things on board Apple’s software. A few days later, Apple released an iOS 7.0.2 update aimed at fixing a lock screen issue on board iOS 7 that was discovered shortly after iOS 7’s arrival.

Rumors have suggested that iOS 7.1 may come around the time that Apple launches its new iPad lineup, said to include an iPad 5 and an iPad mini 2. However, it looks like the company may release one more iOS 7.0.x update before that update arrives.

BGR claims that Apple has seeded iOS 7.0.3 to its employees and testing partners ahead of a release that could come as soon as next week. The software is said to be in for final testing. It’s not clear what the update will do, but given that iOS 7.0.2 issues continue to mount, issues that include a new lock screen security flaw, we could see Apple deliver another bug fix update to iPhone and iPad users.

iOS 7 Setup Guide

Apple’s new iPads are rumored for mid-October with a rumor, that still hasn’t been confirmed, suggesting an event for October 15th, just a day after Google’s rumored October 14th event.

There, Apple is supposedly going to unveil the iPad mini 2 and the iPad 5, both of which have leaked out extensively ahead of their launch date. It’s possible that they will be running iOS 7.0.3 out of the box, given the rumors, but there is also talk of an iOS 7.1 update coming along.

Last year’s iOS 6.1 update didn’t roll out until the new year and it unfortunately brought a host of bugs to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners around the word.

…held off for months from buying a replacement for my original Ipad in the hope of getting a super new Ipad Mini. Failing that, I will go for an Ipad 5 when it emerges. Hope Apple gets its act together as I’m the only kid on the block with a camera-less Ipad .

Switch phone off when not browsing. If you get a call you’ll know about it unless, that is, you are one the growing band of those who get on the bus or walk through the street or ride on the tube anxiously staring at the phone in case you miss an eventful text.

iOS 7.0.2 killed my iPad’s ability to connect to wifi. That’s the biggest issue I have with it. Forget battery life. If I can’t even connect to the internet, what’s the point?

I don’t like the new look with iOS 7. I understand that it is 2D anyway, but it’s like switching from the animation in Avatar to Snow White. If I wanted those tacky doodle-like icons I would have purchased a much cheaper phone. Add in all the bugs and security problems…. Steve Jobs would not have let this happen.
