iOS 7 Beta 7 Questionable, iPad iOS 7 Release Reportedly Delayed

The iOS 7 beta 7 release may never happen and the iOS 7 iPad release could face a short delay until the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 release according to new reports out today.

A leak this morning claimed the iOS 7 beta 7 release was on track for today, after a quick jump tot he iOS 7 beta 6 last week, but as the end of the business day on the east coast arrives there is no sign of any IOS 7 beta 7 downloads for the iPhone or iPad.

Despite syncing up the iPhone and iPad iOS 7 downloads over the past several weeks, the iOS 7 iPad release could face a short delay, similar to the two-week push back from Apple when the iOS 7 beta arrived after WWDC.

With news of an iPhone 5S release set for September, an IOS 7 release for the iPhone is all but confirmed to arrive ahead of the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C releases, as Apple routinely launches a new iPhone with a new version of iOS.

iOS 7 beta 6 may be the final IOS 7 beta according to a new rumor.

A new report from iPhone-ticker.de claims that the IOS 7 beta program is complete. A source tells the publication that there will be no more iOS 7 beta releases in the cards. This report doesn’t name the source, so it’s tough to know if this is accurate in the face of rumors that claim we will see an iOS 7 beta 7 release in August.

Either way, it is likely that we will see one more version of the iOS 7 beta, but rather than come as the iOS 7 beta 7 release, it could land on September 10th as the iOS 7 GM, allowing developers to test their IOS 7 apps on final iOS 7 code.

The iPhone, iPad and iPod touch are currently on iOS 7 beta 6, with rumors of an iOS 7 beta 7 release for today.

The iOS 7 iPad update could face a small delay until the iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 announcement.

Another rumor today from 9to5Mac claims the iOS 7 iPad update is running behind, and that we could see a delay until Apple delivers new iPads.

Mark Gurman cites developers who call iOS 7 for the iPad, “unstable and unreliable”, compared to the iPhone iOS 7 betas. Backing up the claim is the fact that the iPad iOS 7 beta did not arrive until two weeks after the iPhone version, joining up for a beta 2 release.

In the article, Gurman claims talk inside Apple is to expect an iOS 7.0.1 iPad update to arrive after the iOS 7 update arrives on the iPhone. The delayed iOS 7 iPad update would likely come at an iPad event in October, where Apple is expected to announce an iPad 5 and an iPad mini 2.

The iPad 5 is reportedly a thinner and lighter version of the 9.7-inch iPad, complete with a new iPad mini inspired look. The iPad mini 2 is reportedly on the way with the same design, but could see a new 7.9-inch Retina Display added.
