iOS 9.3 Release Date & Time: 5 Things to Expect & 4 Not To

Published

on

The iOS 9.3 release date is getting closer but some of the important details are still shrouded in mystery. While we wait for more information from Apple, we want to take a look at what we expect, and don’t expect, from the iOS 9.3 release and iOS 9.3 release time for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.

In January, Apple trotted out a brand new iOS 9 update called iOS 9.3. Like iOS 9.2, iOS 9.3 is going to be a milestone update for Apple’s operating system and as such, it’s going to deliver some big upgrades to owners of the iPhone and iPad.

Thanks to the iOS 9.3 beta, we already know a lot about the update itself. Apple’s loaded it up with new features including Night Shift, improvements to 3D touch for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, and tweaks to some core apps including Notes and Health. It also includes support Verizon Wi-Fi calling.

While we know quite a bit about the iOS 9.3 update, we still don’t have any official iOS 9.3 release date details. We have some pretty good theories about the release date and release time though.

With a lot of questions swirling around the iOS 9.3 update and its release, we want to do our best to outline what you can expect and what not to expect from the next major iOS 9 update for Apple’s mobile devices.

These predictions should help you set appropriate expectations for the iOS 9.3 update’s release date and time for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. They’ll also help set your expectations regarding the various features on board the milestone upgrade.

Don't Expect Night Shift for Every Device

Don't Expect Night Shift for Every Device

Don't expect one of the best iOS 9.3 features to come to every device.

The iOS 9.3 update will deliver a brand new feature called Night Shift. Night Shift is similar to F.lux for Mac in that it adjusts blue light coming from your display in an attempt to help you get better sleep. Unlike F.lux, Night Shift is for all iPhone owners. (You have to jailbreak to get f.lux on your iPhone or iPad.) Not just any old iPhone though.

It looks like Night Shift will only come to select iPhone models. More specifically, it's not expected to work on iOS devices that have older, 32-bit processors. That list includes the iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, the original iPad mini, and the 5th-generation iPod Touch.

Apple loves to please its customers but don't expect this to change between now and the public release of iOS 9.3.

If you want a Night Shift type feature on your iPhone, and you own an older model, you'll probably have to jailbreak to get it because Apple's not letting competitors into the App Store.

This is the first interesting and really informative article on Apple-related topic posted by Gottabemobile after long, long time. Thank you, it’s pleasure to read something that isn’t just a pile of nonsense constructed from catchy, meaningless sentences.
