iOS 9: 5 Important Things I Learned in 24 Hours

iOS 9 Performance

iOS 9 Performance

I say this is in my iOS impressions all the time but people still don't listen. iOS updates, big and small, have the potential to wreck havoc on your device's performance. Older devices are especially vulnerable due to their aging specs.

My iPhone 5 was extremely slow on iOS 8 but I also ran into several performance issues on my iPhone 6 including issues with Wi-Fi. With iOS 9 so focused on performance, I had high hopes for Apple's latest update. It hasn't disappointed me, at least not yet.

The iOS 9 update is performing well on my iPhone 5. I noted that I saw some sluggishness on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 5 but that slowdown has vanished in the last 24 hours. The chrysalis has given way to a beautiful butterfly. iOS 9 is outstanding but it's not perfect.

Obviously this could change at any time and I wouldn't bet against problems emerging in the future. That said, it's clear that Apple really did focus on improving performance. Not just on flagships like the iPhone 6 but on older devices like the iPhone 5, iPad Air and iPad mini 2.

If you are having issues on iOS 8.4.1 or below, you'll want to think about making the move to iOS 9. There's a potential for issues yes, but I think most of you are going to like what you find.

My iPhone 5 is lasting 1/2 the battery life with iOS 9 than iOS 8, let alone with apps that are crashing left and right. So I have no idea what you are testing but it isn’t iOS 9. Cause iOS 9 is garbage junk. And the new font absolutely is butt ugly.
