iOS 9.1 Release Date

We've also learned that the first major iOS 9 update could come a month after the release of iOS 9.0 in September.

Rumor has it, Apple's working on an iOS 9.1 update. The update will reportedly come later this year alongside new iPads at an Apple event in October. Apple has traditionally used an October media event to announce new iPads and to talk about new OS X software so the timing makes sense.

Not much is known about the iOS 9.1 update but we have heard about the devices that might accompany it to shelves.

Apple's reportedly developing a 12-inch iPad Pro along with a new iPad mini 4. Both are expected to be released this year in time for the holidays and there's a good chance both will be running Apple's upcoming iOS 9.1 update.

Look for more iOS 9.1 information to emerge in the weeks after the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus launch in September.
