iPad iOS 9 Release: 5 Things to Expect

Limited Features

You should expect the iOS 9 release for the iPad to come with different feature sets. Here's what we mean by that.

Don't expect all iOS 9 updates to be created equal. Apple sometimes keeps iOS features exclusive and sometimes features are limited due to hardware capabilities. We're expecting both from the iOS 9 update for iPad.

Apple's new iPhone 6s models are expected to come with iOS 9 features that tie into their new Force Touch display technology. The current line of iPads don't have Force Touch so they won't be getting any Force Touch related features.

We also know that the iPad Air 2 will be the only iPad capable of split-screen multitasking. Don't expect Apple to budge from this with the public iOS 9 release.

We also expect the iPads that Apple announces later this year, rumored to be a iPad mini 4 and a 12-inch iPad Pro, to come with some iOS 9 features that don't come to some of the current iPad models. The new iPads are expected next month alongside a new iOS 9 update.
