Apple is reportedly working on its first big iOS 9 update for iPad. The update is expected to be an iOS 9.1 release and we expect it will come to all iOS 9 powered slates.

Rumors point to an arrival next month alongside the iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro. Apple typically reserves October for another fall launch event so the timing makes a lot of sense. It also makes sense given Apple's new release protocol. 

Last year, the company released iOS 8.1 in late October alongside new iPad models. We'd expect it to follow its new precedent this year with iOS 9. We'd also expect iOS 9.1 to bring more than just bug fixes. X.1 updates always come with enhancements.
