The iPad Pro runs iOS 9, but with the Apple A9X processor inside and new storage technology, this is not a normal iPad.

The power allows users to play three 4K video streams in iMovie as you edit a movie, retouch up to 50MP photos in Adobe Photoshop Fix and work with 3D models in AutoCAD 360. We expect to see additional apps arrive to leverage the power of the iPad Pro and take advantage of the larger screen and Apple Pencil.

Apple is already testing iOS 9.2 with developers and the public as a bug fix update. It is possible that Apple plans to use this release to fix any bugs that arrive with the iPad Pro.
