Apple will now ship new iPhone 5 units in 2-4 business days, the shortest wait period since the device launched in mid-October.

Apple’s Website now says the all models of the iPhone 5 will ship to new buyers in 2-4 business days. Previously the Website said it would take one week for the new iPhones to ship to anybody who purchased one. At one point Apple asked users to wait up to 3-4 weeks for new iPhone 5 units to ship.

The shipping times for iPhone 5 units decreased even as Apple continues to release the iPhone 5 in other countries. Today Apple announced it will bring the iPhone 5 to South Korea, Brazil, Israel, and other countries over the course of December. The iPhone 5 will also release in China, Apple’s fastest growing market, on December 14.

iPhone 5 Review

The iPhone 5 now ships in 2-4 business days in the U.S.

Apple initially had trouble keeping up with demand for the iPhone 5, and Foxconn CEO Terry Gou even admitted that factories had a hard time making enough devices to fulfill demand. Now it seems the initial demand is lessening as more users receive their new phones.

Despite the delays in shipments Apple’s iPhone 5 continues to sell well. A recent study showed that after the release of the iPhone 5 Apple led U.S. smartphone sales for one 12 week period. After the phone’s first weekend of availability Apple announced that it sold 5 million iPhone 5s in the first three days.

In the U.S. the iPhone 5 is currently available on three of the four major national carriers and a number of regional carriers like U.S. Cellular and C Spire Wireless. Rumors say the iPhone 5 could also come to T-Mobile sometime in the near future. T-Mobile currently tries to lure iPhone 5 users who buy the phone unlocked to bring to its carrier.

The iPhone 5 is the first iPhone to support 4G LTE, giving it equal footing in terms of wireless spectrum as high-end Android and Windows Phone devices. It is also the first iPhone to use a 4-inch widescreen display.

The iPhone is not available on U.S. Cellular. Unless you know something that everybody else doesn’t?
