iPhone 5S Part Leak Allegedly Shows Camera Connection

Published

A possible iPhone 5S part is on display today, on the heels of rumors that iPhone 5S production will start next month for a fall release.

The alleged iPhone 5S part photos show what appears to be part of the iPhone 5S motherboard. This is not part of the photoshopped iPhone 5S motherboard which made the rounds earlier this year, but a new small piece that may tie into the iPhone 5S front and rear facing camera.

The purported iPhone 5S motherboard part comes from a japanese website and was discovered by Nowwhereelse.fr which compared the part to the iPhone 5 in order to deduce that it likely plays a role in the iPhone 5S camera setup.

This alleged iPhone 5S motherboard part may connect to cameras, giving weight to iPhone 5S camera rumors which claim improved specs and smaller sizes.

This small part looks similar to the iPhone 5 part shown in the image below, and appears to connect to the iPhone motherboard at the top of the device, which points to connections for a front and rear facing camera. iPhone 5S production is reportedly set to start in June or July, and we tend to see small part leaks as production approaches and suppliers ramp up.

The iPhone 5S is rumored to feature a similar design to the iPhone 5, which gives credibility to this alleged part. We’ve seen leaks that indicate the iPhone 5S could feature an improved rear facing camera capable of better low light photos, a feature that would help it better compete with the HTC One. At least one rumor claims the iPhone 5S rear facing camera will ship with a 12MP sensor.

Based on availability, and the iPhone 5’s use of a part from the same manufacturer we could also see the iPhone 5S arrive with an improved front-facing camera. OmniVision announced a smaller sensor for front-facing smartphone cameras that could deliver 1080P HD video calls and better looking self portraits. This part will go into full scale production in Q3 with a smaller form factor  which could require a change in this part.

The iPhone 5S and iOS 76 may be able to performa a DualShot-like feature.

The iPhone 5S and iOS 76 may be able to perform a DualShot-like feature.

Apple is reportedly working on an iOS 7 feature which would use both the front and rear cameras at the same time to let users stay in the photo. Samsung announced this DualShot feature on the Samsung Galaxy S4, which works for photos and videos. This remains a rumor, but Apple is reportedly completing an overhaul of IOS for the next release, and Apple’s camera app looks dated compared to Samsung and HTC apps.

The iPhone 5S will likely arrive later this year with a design similar to the iPhone 5. Some rumors claim the iPhone 5S will feature a fingerprint reader for security and mobile payments, but other sources claim this will not happen until the iPhone 6. While the iPhone 6 showed up in a carrier listing this morning, it is more likely that the iPhone 5S will arrive this year.

    Bravo Apple!
Keep copying everything from Samsung Galaxy phones to keep your sheep buying it.
Is that what you call innovation?
Bigger screen, bigger phone, better camera, 1080 hd, etc.
What’s next? Replaceable battery, memory card slot, plastic body?
    What a shame!

lol you think waving your hands in front of a phone like an idiot is innovation? you continue to support that cheap plastic design, Samsung is no better, “bigger screen, bigger phone, better camera, 1080 HD” hmm isn’t that what Samsung did? I believe every other brand is doing that as well lol think twice before speaking.

Why do you have to hate Apple? Whether you like them or not, they are helping to move technology along. And yeah your right Jack, every company has completely original products and is filled with innovation except for Apple. Apple just copies everybody else. Apple has the same build quality, processors, operating system, charging cables, voice assistant, advertisements, company views, ECT, that all the other original, innovative companies have.

The iPod came out because Apple was copying everybody else. The iPhone came out because Apple was copying everybody else. The iPad came out because Apple was copying everybody else. The iPhone got i high pixel density display because Apple was copying everybody else. The MacBooks got high pixel density displays because Apple was copying the Chrome book Pixel. iTunes was created because Apple was copying everybody else. Apple has OSX instead of Windows because Apple is copying everybody else. The next time Apple creates something that no other company has, it will be because Apple is copying everybody else.

All of those other companies (Samsung, HTC, Nokia, Google, Motorola, Sony, ECT.) have more in common with each other than Apple does, yet Apple is the one copying.

You take your time to look up Apple news so you can talk bad about them. Why are you going out of your way to find things to be negative about? Find stuff you like instead, and look that up.

Yeah, and Apple created the MacBook Air because it was copying all of the other companies ultra books. Apple completely stole the idea of losing the disk drive from every other company. Lol

Lol, I may laugh at those that are saying that Apple copies every single piece of “Innovation” that other companies bring to the game. Shall I remind you who started the new smartphone era by adding a full multitouch screen to a cellphone? Who brought the first HD screen being 326ppi? Who brought Siri, and was later copied by Samsung with the “S-Voice”? Come on, I think you Android and Samsung lovers can do better, but please, do realize that your giant is doing the same that Apple does, and it’s because it works for them.

I personally thought were were on on iOS 76 too, but then I did a couple hours of research and found out were on iOS 6 and iOS 7 is next. He needs to edit this article before people obsorb this wrong information.
