iPhone 6 Olloclip Release Set for Next Month

For iPhone owners that love taking pictures with their devices, the Olloclip is one of the best accessories around to take great photos on your iPhone. Of course, though, with every new design of the iPhone, Olloclip has to get creative, and it’s come up with a new design of the Olloclip lens kit for the iPhone 6.

The Olloclip for the iPhone 6 is now available for pre-order with plans to launch late next month at some point, although an exact release date isn’t known. It will sell for $79.99 when it releases, which is a bit steep compared to past Olloclips for older iPhones, but that’s probably because of the new design that allows the lens kit to be used on the front-facing camera on the iPhone 6 for the first time.

The four lenses included in the kit are a wide-angle lens, a fisheye lens, and 10x and 15x macro lenses. The kit also comes with a pendant that clips onto a keychain for easier transport, and it also works with the iPhone 6 Plus.

We knew Olloclip was planning to release a lens kit for the iPhone 6, but we weren’t quite sure when that would be. However, it looks like it will launch just in time for the holidays, making it a great accessory to buy for that special iPhone photographer in your life.

The iPhone 6 has one of the best smartphone cameras on the market, with a new 8-megapixel sensor that captures more light and has a blazing-fast autofocus.

The iPhone 6’s camera also comes with image stabilization, although you’ll only get optical image stabilization with the iPhone 6 Plus; the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 only comes with digital image stabilization, which isn’t as good, but can still get the job done relatively well.

Perhaps the best new camera feature is the ability to record 1080p video at 60 frames per second, as well as record slo-mo video at an impressive 240 frames per second at 720p.

The iPhone 6 is a huge improvement over the iPhone 5s, sporting a larger screen (4.7- and 5.5-inches compared to the iPhone 5s’s 4-inch screen), as well as a faster processor on the inside. The iPhone 6 is using Apple’s new A8 processor, and Apple says that it offers 20% faster performance with 50% faster graphics.

The M7 motion processor that was first introduced in the iPhone 5s is also getting an update, only this time Apple is naming it the M8 (not to be confused with the HTC One M8). The new chip can tell the difference between cycling and running, and it can also calculate distance and elevation. It does this with the help from a built-in barometer, which uses air pressure to measure relative elevation.

Not only are the displays bigger this time around, but they’re essentially next-generation Retina displays. Apple is calling it Retina Display HD and it comes with an ultra-thin backlight, photo-aligned IPS liquid crystal, improved polarizer, and ion-strengthened glass. However, no mention of sapphire glass, but it seems the company at least used more-rugged glass anyway.

As for the resolution of these two phones, the 4.7-inch model is rocking a 1334 x 750 resolution while the 5.5-inch model sports a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. This means that the iPhone 6 has 38% more pixels than the iPhone 5s, and the iPhone 6 Plus has a whopping 185% more pixels than the iPhone 5s.

The iPhone 6 has been out for over a month now and many users are taking full advantage of the camera. The Olloclip should only enhance that experience even more.
