Leaked Keyboarded BlackBerry X10 Image Looks Like a Curve With BlackBerry 10

Ahead of Research in Motion’s launch of the BlackBerry 10 operating system, another hardware leak has emerged depicting a BlackBerry X10 device with styling and a physical QWERTY keyboard similar to what is seen in today’s BlackBerry Curve hardware line.

Unlike the recently leaked BlackBerry Z10 image–which shows yet another device with a physical keyboard–the device shown here is dubbed the BlackBerry X10 and comes with a square display and individual island-style keys according to an image posted on GSM Arena. 

Details are scarce for the device, and if in fact it does belong to the Curve hardware range, the device’s specs will likely be lower than that for the more premium BlackBerry Z10, which brings styling similar to RIM’s current BlackBerry Bold flagship series. It’s also unclear if the square display on the BlackBerry X10 will be a touchscreen variety, similar to that on the BlackBerry Z10, or if it will be a touch-less display to keep costs down. Likely, RIM may make it a touchscreen display to keep the device competitive against rival ecosystems and also to highlight the many touch-centric aspects of the new BlackBerry 10 operating system.

In addition to these devices with a physical keyboard, RIM is also releasing touchscreen-only slate devices that look like shrunken BlackBerry PlayBook tablets. Those devices are known by their L Series and N Series code names.

The BlackBerry 10 operating system will be launching at the end of January simultaneously in multiple markets across the globe.
