LG went under the radar in 2016 for having a pretty great camera setup. News was filled with Samsung, Apple, and at the end Google.
However, the LG G5 (and the new LG G6) have two cameras on the back. And they do some neat things. This time around both are improved 13 megapixel cameras, with a larger pixel size for better low-light. It has image stabilization, laser auto-focus and HDR modes. It does a fine job. The secondary camera is 13MP too, instead of 8MP, and does wide-angle shots. Perfect for group photos, landscapes, or wider shots. Apple uses a second lens for zooming in, LG takes a different approach. To each his own as this is all about preference. The G5 did this, but it will be better with their new phone. In 2016 the dual camera setup was pretty popular with users, even if one was a lower resolution. Now, both are excellent 13MP sensors that have plenty to offer. LG fell a little behind in the camera race in 2016. We'll dive into the cameras soon in our full G6 review.
