Moto G 2015 vs Moto G 2014 Specs

While they may look similar to the eye and on paper, the new Moto G has a lot more to offer. They both have 5-inch screens, quad-core processors, and run Android 5.1 Lollipop, but that's where things stop.

The new Moto G comes in two versions: 8GB of storage and 1GB of RAM for $179, or 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM for $219. They both have 4G LTE and micro-SD slots for storage expansion.

This year the processor is still a quad-core chip, but an improved 64-bit Snapdragon 410. The camera is also better as well. They've beefed up the front and rear to 13 megapixels with a dual LED flash and 5MP on the front, vs the 8mp rear and 2mp camera last year. So a huge improvement. The Moto G at $179 takes pictures as good as the $499 Moto X from 2014. It's the same camera without optical image stabilization.

Last but not least is the battery. Last year we had a small 2,000 mAh battery that almost lasted users 8-hours for a work day, but the new Moto G has a bigger 2,470 mAh battery. This should be more than enough for a full day of usage.
