Moto Maker Said to Hit T-Mobile Today, Verizon and Sprint on Monday

Motorola’s Moto Maker for the Moto X has only been available for AT&T customers so far, but that’s about to change very soon, according to mobile insider evleaks, who says that T-Mobile will getting the customization tool later today, while Verizon and Sprint will get it on Monday, November 11.

evleaks sent out multiple tweets with leaked images of the supposed evidence, with renders of customized Moto X devices with Verizon logos, suggesting that the carrier will get the customization tool soon. Furthermore, a leaked screenshot reveals that the checkout section of Moto Maker has all four major carriers selectable, rather than just AT&T listed.

Moto Maker is Motorola’s customization web software that allows Moto X buyers to customize their devices to their liking, by changing the color of the exterior of the device and even changing the color of accents, like the buttons and the ring around the rear camera.

Moto X - Moto Maker

You can buy a Moto X from carriers that don’t offer Moto Maker as an option, but you’ll only have black and white to choose from, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but for those wanting to be unique, choosing between black and white just doesn’t cut it anymore these days.

Will we see engraving and wooden rear plates that Motorola promised during the Moto X launch event? We’re not sure, but if the company was planning to upgrade its Moto Maker service, this would be the time to do it. The Moto X is one of the best smartphones on the market right now, and it’s not because of its internal specs; the phone doesn’t have a lot of credit with CPU and speed, but the features are what makes the handset shine.

The customization ability makes the Moto X one of the more unique options when buying a smartphone, and Motorola is trying to market the phone as a device that you can truly make your own, as opposed to having the same color phone that everyone else has.

If these rumors are true, we should get an update today that lets T-Mobile users take advantage of Moto Maker, while Monday will be the day for Verizon and Sprint.

I guess the rumors were false. It is Monday November 11 and still no moto maker for T-Mobile.
