Moto X Deal Arrives Minutes After Launch

Published

The new Moto X has only been around for a few minutes and already, there is a deal that prospective Moto X buyers can take advantage of, if they don’t mind heading to the nation’s fifth largest carrier.

Earlier today, U.S. Cellular began taking pre-orders on the Moto X, the first carrier to do so, but certainly not the last. Tucked away in that pre-order is the first Moto X deal, a deal that comes mere minutes after the device’s arrival.

Just minutes after launch, a Moto X deal has emerged.

U.S. Cellular, like the other carriers, will be offering the Moto X starting at $199.99 on-contract. That’s a price tag that AT&T and Sprint will be using and it’s one that we should see emerge at Verizon as well. However, U.S. Cellular is actually offering a discount on the Moto X, already, to those that are making the switch from another carrier.

The carrier is offering a $75 discount on the Moto X to those that come from elsewhere, a discount that drops the price all the way down to $125 on-contract, an extremely affordable price for a device of this caliber. Buyer will want to note that this is for the non-customizable Moto X and not the customizable model. The Moto X that utilizes Motorola’s Moto Maker customization model is exclusive to AT&T for the time being but will be heading elsewhere later on this year.

U.S. Cellular is also throwing in a free Motorola boom headset which has a value of $60, making this an even better deal that it already was.

This is a great deal for those looking to buy the new Moto X.

The Moto X is expected to touch down later this month.

This is likely the first, of what will be a long line of Moto X deals that emerge over the course of its existence. Android phones typically see deep discounts almost immediately after launch so it’s actually a little unsurprising to see a deal emerge this soon after its announcement.

The Moto X will be out on shelves in late August, early September and it will be heading to all five of the nation’s largest carriers. It will also be heading to the Google Play Store as Google has confirmed a Moto X Google Edition for arrival.

Motorlola’s new flagship features a 4.7-inch 720p display, dual-core processor, LTE data speeds, 10MP Clear Pixel camera, and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It will receive updates from Motorola but software will still be subject to carrier approval.

Why is Motorola only putting 720p screens on their new phones?
