Motorola Details Atrix 2 Ice Cream Sandwich Update

Published

on

The soak test for the Motorola Atrix 2 Ice Cream Sandwich update is under way and Motorola, while not officially announcing the update, detailed the software’s contents on its website ahead of Android 4.0’s eventual roll out for AT&T’s smartphone.

While Motorola’s website details just about everything users will want to know about the upcoming update, it does not reveal a specific release date for the software.

We know that the Atrix 2’s Ice Cream Sandwich update is currently in the midst of a soak test and if that goes well, we presume it roll out in a few days. Typically, updates that that undergo a soak test roll out to the public a few days afterward. However, if Motorola runs into any issues, the software could be delayed.

Motorola has detailed the Atrix 2 ICS update ahead of its roll out.

At this point, we don’t know what the case is but it’s looking like Motorola thinks it will go well because the software is now listed on the manufacturer’s website.

Motorola fills customers in on all of the changes that will be coming with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Users who replace Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the update are going to see a number of changes including a new user interface, better notifications, an improved keyboard, a better Camera app, and hey, even the ability to take screenshots.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is a massive upgrade over Gingerbread and Atrix 2 owners should definitely think about making the upgrade. After all, it’s free.

We imagine that the update will also bring some bug fixes as well which should help patch up any issues that users were having in Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

So, from the looks of things, the Atrix 2 ICS update looks like it’s on its way to owners in the near future and we’ll let you know when we see some movement. In the meantime, stay patient, Ice Cream Sandwich is on the way Atrix 2 owners.

Thanks, ____!

I am sick of motorola’s bull shit. They are lazy programmers and tell you next to nothing about when any update will be released. I am switching to another brand when it comes time to upgrade my phone.

… From here-on-out, I’m spending the extra and getting a popular phone so that way I don’t have to wait so long for an update. The Atrix 2 was my first Android phone and its a good phone for my purposes. I’m just very disappointed that Moto took so long to roll out the most popular Android ROM on a lot of its phones.

I am leaving Motorola, I mean Google, as soon as ICS is released and I can sell my rooted Atrix2 for more than I bought it for. Google is a behemoth with no F***ing humility.

Respect the hand that feeds you because an angry customer tells three friends not to deal with you!
