Motorola’s Facebook Phone Gets Certification, Competing with HTC Status?
Motorola is gearing up to launch its own Facebook-centric phone similar to rival HTC’s Status for AT&T. Little is known about the Motorola-made phone with Facebook capabilities as it is getting its Bluetooth certification from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG). The phone, model number EX-225, has a dedicated Facebook button for easy access to the popular social networking site, along with a front-facing QWERTY keyboard and landscape-oriented display.
In terms of design, the phone resembles a BlackBerry or even the Motorola Charm for T-Mobile USA. The EX-225 will be a 3G phone with a 2.4-inch display, 3-megapixel camera, and an beefier EX-226 will feature dual-SIM slots that’s geared towards the Asian market.
Little else is known about the phone and it’s unclear if the device will be a smartphone utilizing Google’s Android operating system or will be a feature phone. Android may not be present as the device doesn’t appear to support Android’s navigation button below the display.
