Nearly 1 Million Windows Phone 7 Devices Sold in February
In the short month of February, analysts estimate that nearly 1 million devices were sold running Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 platform, which will soon be implemented by Nokia, the world’s largest phone-maker by volume.
The Next Web is saying that 877,000 Windows Phone 7 devices were sold in February. The site has been accurate in reporting, prior to Microsoft’s announcement, that Windows Phone 7 achieved a milestone of 2 million handsets sold through January.
To date, since the platform’s debut late last year, there are approximately 3.38 million Windows Phone 7 handsets sold when February’s estimates are accounted for.

If they can get their molasses-loving butts moving on updates and new phone models (especially on Sprint and Verizon) they could be selling a whole lot more.

It shows most of the purchases where in the last two months when buyers hoped the updates and any obvious bugs were taken care of….

Not necessarily… Microsoft also launched another marketing campaign in February that has run through this month, so it’s highly plausible that the increase is a result of that effort as well.

I also think that more and more iOS users are switching over to Windows Phone 7.

I would have to agree with you “GoodThings2Life” the WP7 product marketing engine would appear to be making good progress in the minds of consumers. I would also like to think that “Word-of-Mouth” about the UI is helping too. It is a far more consistent experience than the others in the market.
I’m impressed and looking forward to what March’s numbers reveal.
