New HTC One May Come Sooner Than You Think

The HTC One is only a few months only and already there is talk about a new HTC One for 2013 and a successor, the latter of which is thought to be a device called the HTC M8.

In February, HTC announced the HTC One and in April, released it on carriers in the United States including AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. In just a few weeks, Verizon will release its own HTC One meaning the device will have launched on the four largest carriers in the United States, something that the previous flagship, the HTC One X, did not do.

With the Verizon launch, the HTC One will be well positioned to battle the likes of the iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S4. However, it doesn’t look like HTC is done with releases. The company is rumored to have an HTC One Mini planned for August and a larger HTC One Max planned for later this year to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. However, that may not be all.

According to Pocket-lint, the company may release another, upgraded version of the HTC One later this year, possibly in the same way it released the HTC One X+ last year after the arrival of the HTC One X. There are currently no details about this mysterious HTC One including features or release date though we saw the HTC One X+ arrive with a souped up processor and more storage space.

Another HTC One is rumored for 2013.

If true, it could mean that HTC will have not one, not two, not three but four HTC One models on shelves this year in an attempt to regain its form. Samsung, HTC’s chief rival, has released a number of Galaxy S4 branded products and Apple is rumored to have a cheaper iPhone model up its sleeve, in addition to the iPhone 5S.

The report also suggests that the HTC One will be replaced by a device called the HTC M8 in 2014. The HTC One is also known as the HTC M7, so this isn’t surprising. Details in regards to the HTC M8 are extremely scarce and likely will remain that way for much of 2013 as HTC prepares its HTC One successor.

The HTC One is arguably one of the best smartphones of all time so it should come as no surprise that HTC is working on a successor, what is surprising is how early the rumor has sprouted up.

Well don’t expect to see it on VZW anytime soon…they are still waiting for the original HTC One…

Yes! I’m so happy I’m on a carrier like Verizon that offers the cream of the smartphone crop…just six months after every other carrier gets it, and it’s already obsolete. Yes!
