While we’re waiting for Apple to launch the iPhone 5 the company is still making commercials to advertise its exiting products. The latest Apple commercial is for the iPad.
The new iPad commercial shows everything users can do with the 9.7-inch tablet with built-in and third-party apps. The add shows users both creating and consuming content on the new iPad, sending the message that it’s a tablet for everyone and everything.
The add really doesn’t break any new ground, it simply retreads the same line Apple’s repeated for a while now that iPads are for more than just reading, gaming, and watching movies. It shows users creating presentations and editing photos on the iPad as well as a cash register app, which is one of the more common interfaces for mobile payments.
Other apps in the commercial include a magazine, FaceTime, a racing game, the Music app, Safari, and a recipe app.
While other companies like Samsung put together long videos explaining everything about their devices, Apple only seems to need 30 seconds. Sure, there’s a lot more to the iPad, but this ad covers a lot of the basic uses in an easy-to-understand manner while trying to elicit some sort of emotion through the narrator and background music.
Thankfully, the new Apple Genius commercials haven’t broken through to the mobile side of Apple.
Some recent rumors say Apple will soon replace the current iPad with the same model sporting the new smaller dock connector (which may have 19, 8, or 9 pins). While the rumor does make some sense for Apple fans who want all their devices to have the same dock connector, we doubt such an iPad will have a better Retina Display or processor than the current iPad.
