Apple announced a new MacBook Pro Retina release date today with a $200 price drop, faster storage, a new design for the new MacBook Pro Retina 13-inch model that trims the weight and the thickness.

Each of the new MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 models comes with an Intel Haswell processor that is a key component of the new MacBook Pro bringing the long battery life we saw on the new MacBook Air to the MacBook Pro line along with OS X Mavericks.

Apple also adds Thunderbolt 2 connectivity to the new MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 update which will expand the ability to connect displays, storage and accessories to the new MacBook Pro. This is especially important as the new MacBook Pro Retina does not allow users to add storage or RAM down the line.

The notebook still starts at 128GB of storage and 4GB of RAM, but with a new lower $1,299 entry-level price. Users also get faster PCIe flash for improved performance. As far as I can see, then the nVidia is only in the more expensive 15 inch version, and not in the base 1.999$ version. When should you go with the nVidia (expensive) solution?

Get the nVidia if you’re a gamer or a 3D graphic designer. Casual/business users won’t see much benefit from it.
