New Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Details Emerge

Published

on

New Samsung Galaxy Note 4 release details have emerged thanks to a new report that pegs the Galaxy Note 4 release for later this year alongside a brand new smartwatch.

For months, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors have been flying around pointing to a number of potential features of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 successor. The Galaxy Note 4, for the moment, looks like it could come with some impressive upgrades including a brand new display, a brand new design, and brand new software. It also looks like it may be released in and around the same time that Galaxy Note’s are always released.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors point to an arrival in the second half of the year and more specifically, sometime this fall. Earlier this year, a Samsung executive said that the company planned to release a new Galaxy Note in the fall alongside new wearable technology. And that’s exactly what Galaxy Note 4 release rumors suggest.

Galaxy Note 3

An early report suggested that Samsung was working on a Google Glass competitor and that the product would debut alongside the Galaxy Note 4 later on this year. Today, a new report from the Korea Herald says that Samsung will be debuting a new smartwatch later on this year alongside the Galaxy Note 4.

The report doesn’t give the smartwatch a name though it says that it could be a third-generation Samsung Galaxy Gear, a Samsung Galaxy Gear 3. Samsung Gear 2 smartwatch has only been out for a few weeks now as it debuted alongside the Samsung Galaxy S5 back in February of this year.

The report does not go into deal about the smartwatch and only notes that it will be sold in a bundled package with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Last year’s Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was bundled with the original Galaxy Gear.

If Samsung does release a third version of its smartwatch, the device would likely be up against Apple’s rumored iWatch. iWatch rumors continue to point to an arrival later on this year alongside iOS 8, the iPhone 6 and a number of other products supposedly in Apple’s pipeline. Apple’s iWatch hasn’t leaked but the device is expected to tie in heavily with Apple’s brand new software.

It notes that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to be announced around IFA 2014 in Berlin, Germany though it stops short of naming a specific launch date. Galaxy Note 4 launch rumors have pointed to an arrival on September 3rd, ahead of IFA 2014, though that remains unconfirmed at this point.

The past three Samsung Galaxy Note launches took place at the IFA trade show so it should come as no surprise that Galaxy Note 4 rumors are all pointing in that direction.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 will allegedly come with some big time upgrades over the Galaxy Note 3 including a higher-resolution 5.7-inch display, dust and water proof design, fingerprint sensor, brand new TouchWiz software, 32GB of storage, and a release on all of the major carriers in the United States including AT&T and Verizon.

Galaxy Note 4 release date rumors remain scarce. Samsung is known for releasing its products just weeks after their arrival on stage so it’s possible that we’ll see the Galaxy Note 4 release date land in September or October, right around the same time as last year’s Galaxy Note 3 release.

AAPL stock continues to rise on hopes that the iPhone 6 release date will bring many upgrades.

AAPL stock continues to rise on hopes that the iPhone 6 release date will bring many upgrades.

If true, the device will almost certainly collide with Apple’s iPhone 6, a device that is expected to debut this fall and could come in two sizes. Rumors point to a 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and an 5.5-inch iPhone 6, the latter of which would likely be a direct competitor for the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and its large screen.

iPhone 6 release date rumors haven’t decided on a release date for the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 but they all point to a release in time for the holiday shopping season and perhaps, in time to do battle with the Galaxy Note 4.

If the new Note 4 is plastic they can keep it. I don’t care how ridiculously big the screen is or how sharp the display is. When you wrap all that up in cheap plastic it’s a deal breaker.

This is great news. I have Sprint Upgrade program that allows me to upgrade every year without additional charges.

I agree that the only way that I would stay with the Note series of phones is if the come with a metal frame and back cover. I would consider overlooking the plastic if it has a 64 bit processor and 4 gb of ram. They point to the fact that everyone wants the removable back for battery replacement and I do agree that is very important . But why can’t they do both ? I mean this is Samsung for goodness sake !! If they don’t deliver on one of the 2 above mentioned then I’m going for either the HTC 1 M8 prime or possibly even the IPhone 6 with the 5.5 inch screen. And I’ve bought ALL the previous Note models including the N3 that I’m writing this comment on now . Btw I really love this device but everyone is starting to pull away from Samsung because of there unwillingness to risk the change that so many are begging for. If they won’t change then I must .

Samsung should introduce a LTE-Advanced Note Pro with 6.5″ Ultra HD Screen, 4GB RAM, new 805 processor, laser auto focus, 64GB, 25mp camera. Major upgrades to Note software and add new Office Suite app that they offer on Note Pro 12. Add a ultra-long battery 4000maH and the ability to add a sd card to expand up to 1TB.

Iphone 6 may size up to 5.5 and Lg G3 is 5.5 with 2.5K UHD screen, so Samsung needs to step up from these ankle biters.

everywhere I read people complain bout the notes plastic exterior and while I agree the frame and bezels should be composed of a stronger material an all metal note just sounds horrible. Amoled and oled screens produce their own light and overheat quickly, granted not as quickly as an lcd but the get hot. Then you’ve got these fancy octa core cpu’s, which the note 4 is predicted to house. After a few weeks you might be missing that heat dispersive “cheap” plastic. The note 3 is heavy device weighing in at almost 6 oz. Add on a full metal body and you might as well add on another ounce and a half. Similar to the one max. My issues fall in line with the almost certainly added heartbeat sensor and other gimmicky addons which in my opinion are best left as features found in wearables like the galaxy gear or gear fit.

I’m not too worried about my phone being light weight after its an electronic device not whipped cream. Have no idea what the fascination is with wanting a light device. How much energy does it take to carry a cell phone on your person. For a device that is too light equals cheap. My Note 3 has never heated up since I’ve had it. But then I use it as just a phone with the occasional Web browsing. I don’t game on or anything like that because no me all cell phone games are lame. .but that’s just me. I’m not an HTC fan either but they seem to be on the right track with build quality as well as sound quality. This is where Samsung gets left in the dust every single time hands down. I can almost promise you that the Note 4 will be underwhelming as was the S5. My carrier is now giving that phone away just for signing a two year contract.

Yes the Note 4 will boost some fancy new gimmicky software as usual as well as a better display maybe a little brighter and sharper bit most people won’t vendors notice unless your really looking for it. It will have an 18 mega pixel camera or better. But at the end if the day no….and I mean no cell phone camera is ever going to beat a dedicated camera. I use my cell phone camera when I don’t care about the quality of the picture. I have a professional camera for when I do care about quality.

So the Note 4 will be predictable and underwhelming at best…All wrapped in a cheap plastic she’ll as per usual…just like the S5. I’m looking for HTC to continue to improve and eventually surpass Samsung in the future at least in the cell phone arena.

Ive always been a die hard note fan. Ever since the first note but I guess if I had to choose a make it or break it scenario that would determine if I upgraded to the note 4 its gonna be software. I’m okay with the build of the phone as it always gets thrown into an otter defender case. Samsung always uses top notch internals and the screen is almost certainly going to be a 2k display but if samsung insists on loading in down with useless bloat again or switches from android to tizen, ill probably walk away. I love the n3 despite the fact that almost 6gigs of the pre-installed 32gigs are used by sams touchwiz, bloat and third party bloatware. I for one am anticipating the moto x+1. Dispite a horrible name and that its no longer assembled in the US and that its now owned by Lenovo, if it follows the moto x’s footsteps and is large enough to be in the phablet category, I might just consider it. But I digress. As long as samsung’s main selling point for the note 4 isn’t similar to the s5, its slightly more powerful, looks slightly different and does other useless crap that I wont use and if its still android OS, I’ll get it…

I think I’m going for the HTC One M8. I have owned all of the Notes and can say been there done that and got the T shirt. Time for something new. I hardly ever use the S Pen that came with the phone and all of the gimmicky software just drains your battery if you do by some odd chance find use for any of it. I mean come on man the stylst went out with the palm pilot in the early 90s. How long are the going to keep trying to resurrect that old technology? Texting is faster hands down using the pen is just…well…cute if you want a blast from the past. I have a 4G television and trust me….it doesn’t blow your socks off like they say it does. …it’s just..well…ok…underwhelming. So a 4k phone display can be expected to be as equally underwhelming.

I don’t understand, if you use your phone only as a phone with occasional Web browsing, why get even get a note phone? Or any top of the line phone for that matter? You wouldn’t buy a supercomputer to run Microsoft Word would you? I want it to stay plastic because I use my note to its full capabilities. Plus, the hotter it gets, the quicker the battery will die. But I don’t buy my phone as a piece of jewelry to show off to everyone. It stays in a case all the time anyway.

And as for the s pen, I was able to use it to sign legal documents and submit them electronically. So while I don’t use it every day, I’m still glad it’s there.

So now Apple is copying the large screen because they realized they suck compared to the Samsung God? That’s low.

I still don’t understand why people complain about the plastic. I like the plastic. I can see making the ban around the phone metal but that is about it. Metal phones show wear and scratches easier. Plus 98% of the people with metal phones put them in plastic cases. So that “premium feel” and thinness of the phone goes away with that plastic case. My Note 3 still looks new since I got it in October of 2013 and I don’t use a case. My friends that have metal phones with out cases you can see the wear on their phones and they bought their after I did. Plus if I ever scratch the back of my phone I can replace it for 6 to 10 dollars. I like the new backs they have on the Note 3. It has a good grip and doesn’t leave fingerprints easily if any. If you want your phone to be metal then go on ebay and buy the metal case they make for your phone if you want that “premium feel”. Metal phones are also heavier, heat up faster, and block antenna signals. That is why metal phones have some plastic moldings and glass for the antennas. Apple made a plastic phone and no one complained about that.

Removable battery is a must. That is why I like Samsung. I sure hope Samsung continues to have removable batteries even if they decide to jump on this bandwagon of metal phones. Removable battery is one of the most important thing to have. I rather carry around an extra battery that is small and thin vs those big battery charging packs that is 12000 mAh. Also if your battery goes bad I can get a new OEM one for 10 to 12 dollars vs having to take my phone to the store and have them replace the battery for 85 to 100 dollars.

What Samsung needs to do is tighten up there software and allow you to remove anything you don’t want. I do like how they put everything in their phones because people like different things. I remember back in the day getting frustrated because phones didn’t have everything I wanted. One phone would have a few features I want and another phone would have the other features I want. But neither phone would have everything I want and I wished they would combine the 2 phones. With Samsung putting everything in their phones I don’t have to pick and choose what features I have to go without. They just have to make it where people can uninstall, install, and reinstall any program you want or don’t want.

I would like to see the Note 4 have a 6 inch Flexible OLED (unbreakable) screen with removable battery. I was hoping the Note 3 would have it but got stuck with a 5.7 inch screen. I would have gotten the Galaxy Mega but the specs sucked on it. Now if Samsung came out with a Galaxy Note Mega a 6.5 inch Flexible OLED (unbreakable) screen with the same specs as the Note 4 and SPen. I would get that instead of the 5.7 inch Note. I use my phone a lot for the web and other things. That is why I want a big screen phone that fits in my pocket. They can make that possible with very thin bezels. I don’t want to buy a tablet so I would have to carry around 2 electronics. I prefer to carry 1 electronic device in my pocket. Plus if I were to get a tablet, I would get the 10.1 or 12.2 inch tablet not the 7 or 8 inch ones.

I’m hoping the new “form factor” the Samsung Execs are talking about includes the three-sided bendable display. That looks fascinating to get messages and alerts along the side if the display. The other improvements are great, but Samsung really needs to get rid of the awful bloatware. The plastic back is fine because I put it in a protective case anyway (as do most folks). I’ll likely go with the HTC One M8 Prime if the Note 4 doesn’t have that new form factor. Maybe even the larger iPhone 6…
