Nexus 5 Stock Alert Sends a Text When the Nexus 5 is in Google Play
If you can;t wait to get the Nexus 5, you can sign up for a free text alert service that is monitoring all known Google feeds for the first glimpse of the Nexus 5.
n5Stock is a Twitter account that is backed by a script monitoring the various Nexus 5 pages which users teased out of the Google Play Store when Google accidentally listed the Nexus 5 last week.

Users can sign up for an alert when Google updates these various pages, and choose from a Twitter alert or a text alert. The Nexus 5 stock checker, which is also a perfect Nexus 5 release notification system, monitors six pages where Google might share Nexus 5 information.
Reddit user xur17 created a python script that checks these pages for changes every minute, and will send an alert as soon as it detects something new. This system should help you be among the first to find out when the Nexus 5 is in Google Play, and be among the first to order the Nexus 5.
Users can follow these steps to turn on push notifications for when the Nexus 5 is in stock at Google Play. These work on Android and iPhone.
Set up Push Notifications:
- Open @n5stock using the twitter app
- Follow @n5stock, select ‘face’ icon on left, and select ‘Turn on notifications’
Set up SMS Notifications (works with Google Voice):
- Text 40404
- Login, or reply with a new username (that doesn’t exist)
- Text ‘ON n5stock’
If you sign up for text alerts you may face a charge to get the text messages, but you can use a free Google Voice number and the Google Voice app to avoid that. When you get the Nexus 5, you can turn off notifications by sending ‘Off’ to the same number.
The Nexus 5 release is close with signs showing it is in warehouses ready for sale and in inventory systems for at least one major big box retailer.
The Nexus 5 is expected to arrive with a 5-inch display and a 1920 x 1080 resolution backed by a Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM as well as a 2,300mAh battery. We expect that Google will offer the Nexus 5 in black and white with a 16GB and 32GB storage option and no micro SD card or removable storage. The Nexus 5 starts at $349.

Are you sure your script avoids ISP web page caching? It should do at least two things: check on the page timestamps and send a random generated variable in the GET request.
