Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date Problems Mount

Published

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 release date problems continue to mount just days ahead of key Galaxy Note 4 release dates.

Samsung’s all new Galaxy Note 4 is an impressive smartphone and one that comes loaded with high-powered specs including a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a brand new 16MP camera with Optical Image Stabilization, a new S Pen stylus, Android 4.4.4 KitKat software that’s backed by TouchWiz, and a brand new design that comes with both plastic and metal materials.

The Galaxy Note 4 is set to replace the Galaxy Note 3 in several regions starting this month including the United States, India, and the United Kingdom. And unfortunately, the Galaxy Note 4 release date has hit several snags as Samsung works behind the scenes getting its new flagship ready for the big stage around the world.

First, Samsung UK pushed the Galaxy Note 4 release date from October 10th to October 17th. The company cited overwhelming demand as the reason for the delay. A short time after that, Clove UK announced that it was pushing its Galaxy Note 4 release to October 24th for unspecified reasons. The company was also forced to take down its gold Galaxy Note 4 due to an exclusivity deal that Samsung has in place.

The Galaxy Note 4 release date has unfortunately run into more trouble today. UK retailer Carphone Warehouse has abruptly pushed new Galaxy Note 4 orders to October 27th. Pre-orders, according to Android Central, will still ship on time but those placing an order today won’t get their device until later on this month. It’s not clear as to why the retailer is pushing the date though it could have something to do with the demand Samsung UK was talking about.

Samsung Australia was also forced to postpone its Galaxy Note 4 release date. Originally scheduled for October 29th, Samsung Australia tells CNET that the Galaxy Note 4 release is now slated for November 5th. The Galaxy Note 4 is still available for pre-order today but it won’t be released until early November. It’s not clear what’s forced the delay.

U.S. carriers continue to hold firm on an October 17th arrival though, as we’ve pointed out, Verizon is committed to a ship by date of October 23rd, or, a week after October 17th. We’ve also learned that there is a chance that the Verizon Galaxy Note 4 release date won’t arrive until next week, or, a week after the Galaxy Note 4 emerges for its rivals.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 orders have already begun hitting doorsteps across the country ahead of its October 17th street date. AT&T is expected to start shipping its own pre-orders in the near future.

The U.S. and the United Kingdom are just a few regions set to get the Galaxy Note 4 in the coming weeks. Samsung recently announced that it would be deploying the Galaxy Note 4 in 140 countries around the world with release scheduled to take place throughout the month of October and into the month of November. Most countries will get the Galaxy Note 4 this month while a few stragglers will start offering it in early November.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 release will coincide with another big Galaxy Note release. The Galaxy Note Edge release date has now been confirmed for late October in Japan and will arrive on Japanese carrier KDDI on October 23rd, or, a week after the Galaxy Note 4 emerges for buyers in the U.S. and U.K. While the U.S. is set to get the Galaxy Note Edge later this year, the UK could be faced with another delay as the Galaxy Note Edge isn’t expected to hit that region at launch.

Both devices will offer powerful features though it will be the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 that’s mass produced. The Galaxy Note Edge release will be far more limited.

Samsung has scored yet another home goal with the delay – I’m now considering the Nexus 6 as it will be available in a 64GB version and is said to have an card slot – sure there’s no stylus but I use it very rarely on my Note 3 and the price of the Note 4 with only a 32GB option is just too expensive. With Apple, OnePlus and now Googke offering devices with 64GB internat memory I can’t understand how Samsung has managed to mishudge the market with a “flagship” product.

As the article states, the situation in the USA for some carriers differs – the delays relatesto the UK (amongst other countries) and as my name should make clear, I am in the UK.

Why so defensive, UKTECHGUY? Kate was just sharing her experience. Like you, I’m in the UK and a Note 3 user, but never buy my phones in the first month of release. I usually wait, since the Note 2, until Christmas to grab a bargain. The Nexus 6 you mentioned will NOT be released before the Note 4 so what’s your argument? If you end up with the Nexus, I have no doubt you will return to the Note at some point. It’s a different experience! What the other manufacturers haven’t grasp is, the Note is not just a big phone, but it packs windows like Multi-task, split screen features that work flawlessly witht the S Pen. Unless the competition can copy this, the Note will remain head and shoulders above them.

The delays are because of the issue with Nvidia. Nvidia is trying to ban a lot of Samsung 2013 and 2014 devices, including the Note 4, Note3, S5 and others. The ITC is investigating now because Samsung has done what they do best – stealing patents.

How are they stealing patents when they are first large phone with s pen, since the note 1. I don’t get it apple had nothing to compare from the note 1 on. If anything apple is trying to copy the note with the 6 plus. They couldn’t add a pen as that would be a full copy. Samsung screen is better and s pen makes it great. Where are copyrights stolen .

So when will I be able to pick up the Note 4 in store in the UK?

I was hoping to pick one up on the 17th, but now it seems unlikely.

@Petey, I picked the Note 3 for £360 on boxing day last year. They were selling for £550 2 months prior. Contract phone dropped from £34 to £27 per month at Carphone Warehouse, but I still decided to buy outright. Hope it helps.
