Before we wrap up this comparison and let you decide we want to talk about the cameras. That's because the camera is usually the weak link for OnePlus. It's where they cut costs to keep phones hundreds less than the competition. 

And while OnePlus made a big effort to offer a better, bigger, optically stabilized camera this year, it can't compete with the HTC U12+. 

HTC's camera received a score of 103 from DxoMark. A site dedicated to testing cameras. That's the highest score any phone has ever received, aside from the Huawei Honor P20. With HTC's phone you'll get two cameras on the back, and two cameras on the front. Yes, four cameras total. It takes amazing photos and video, 4K video, OIS, EIS, has a telephoto lens and takes portrait-style photos on the front and the back. It's as feature-complete as you'll get. 

The OnePlus 6 has a 16 and 20MP rear camera setup, and a 16MP camera on the front too. It takes good photos and video that will look great on Facebook or Instagram. There's nothing wrong with this camera, it's just not as good as some of the competition. 

Basically, if the camera is important to you, consider the HTC U12+ or something like Samsung's Galaxy S9.
