OtterBox Galaxy S5 Case Options Announced

When the Samsung Galaxy S5 goes on sale next month it will offer a water-resistant design that can handle a 30 minute drop into water, but users that need protection from drops and more may want to pick up a Galaxy S5 Otterbox case to keep the phone safe.

Samsung announced the Galaxy S5 in late February with a larger screen and a new design that is water and dust-resistant, but the phone’s plastic and glass design is not “rugged” like some other phones that can take drops and other damage without showing wear.

OtterBox announced three new Samsung Galaxy S5 cases which will arrive soon with several distinct levels of protection and additional features. The OtterBox Galaxy S5 cases are just the start of a wave of Galaxy S5 accessories we expect to see this month.

The new Galaxy S5 OtterBox cases are coming with several Galaxy S5 case options.

For users that need a Waterproof Galaxy S5, the OtterBox Galaxy S5 Preserver case is the option to look at. This case allows users to take the Galaxy S5 underwater up to 6.6 feet for 30 minutes. This is twice as deep as the Galaxy S5 without a case. While it may not sound like much more, it is the difference between a barely underwater photo and doing something a bit more.

Next up is an OtterBox Galaxy S5 Defender Series case. The OtterBox Defender Series is one of most recognizable OtterBox cases, offering a multi-layer protective bubble around the phone. The OtterBox Galaxy S5 Defender Series will combine OtterBox protection with the built-in water resistant features to offer a more rugged smartphone. Here is a look at the OtterBox Defender review with more information.

The OtterBox Commuter Wallet Galaxy S5 case allows users to enjoy the protection of OtterBox’s slimmer Commuter series while also carrying several cards at the same time. This is handy as an everyday way to carry a phone and important cards or cash without also taking a wallet, and a nice way to keep your valuables at hand while on the go without a lot of pockets. Check out our OtterBox Commuter Wallet review for more.

OtterBox will also soon offer the Symmetry Galaxy S5 case for users that want protection without the bulk of traditional OtterBox cases. This new case option is thinner than Defender or Commuter, combining two layers of protection into a single piece.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is set for April 11th, and while pricing is not confirmed expect around $620 to $650 off contract and between $199 and $250 on a two-year contract.

Nice move from Otterbox, however, Spigen have done better this time with Slim Fit case. I am also waiting for the Neo Hybrid case, I am sure it’ll beat them all. https://www.galaxy-s5-cases.com
