Outer Rim Battlefront DLC Release: 5 Things to Expect & 4 Not To
The first Star Wars Battlefront DLC release date will arrive sometime this month. While wait for EA to outline the official details we want to take a look at a few things to expect from the Outer Rim release for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
In January, EA DICE finally confirmed names and dates for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront DLC expansion packs. The company plans to release three DLC expansions this year with a fourth set to arrive in 2017.
The first Star Wars Battlefront DLC will arrive in March and the first Outer Rim release date should be just a few short days away.
First up is the Outer Rim expansion pack, the DLC that will take gamers to the factories of Sullust and the palace of Jabba the Hutt.
Thanks to a recent announcement, we finally know what to expect from the Outer RIM DLC’s features. It’s set to bring a new game mode, two new heroes, new weapons, and brand new Star Cards for gamers to choose from. All of that is confirmed but we’re still waiting for a final announcement regarding its release date.

Now that the March Star Wars Battlefront update has emerged for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, we're getting close to an Outer Rim release. Real close. You can expect the Outer Rim DLC release date to land two full weeks early for Season Pass owners. EA DICE has confirmed this over and over again and we want to make it clear. If you own the Season Pass, you'll get access to Outer Rim before everyone else. Season Pass owners can expect the Outer Rim release date to land in March but there's no guarantee that those of you looking to buy it on its own will get it this month. EA's community manager confirmed as much in recent comments on Twitter. March is the "anticipated access" for Season Pass owners. Amazon lists an Outer Rim release date for April 5th (GameStop also did though it has taken the date down, we preserved it in the picture here) but EA says that it cannot confirm this to be the exact Outer Rim release date at this time. If this date holds, and there's a very good chance that it will, expect an Outer Rim release date for Season Pass owners in late March. With the middle of the month coming up, and EA telling gamers to expect more details soon, expect EA DICE to detail the Outer Rim release date for both groups in the near future.
