Where to Play the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 Right Now

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 entertainment consoles won’t arrive at consumer’s homes for about another month but that doesn’t mean that users have to wait until then to try them out.

Starting today, users can be one of the first to try the PlayStation 4 by heading to one of company’s retail stores throughout the country, according to IGN. Those who don’t live near one of the company’s stores will also be able to checkout units at their local Walmart, Target, Best Buy and GameStop soon.

Users won’t be forced to just stare at the console either. Instead, Sony has pre-loaded each kiosk with launch titles including FIFA 14, Knack, Octodad: Deadliest Catch, Contrast, Super Motherload and Pinball Arcade.

Sony has already added a mapping utility that allows users to checkout which stores in their area have demo kiosks to its Experience PlayStation website. From the looks of it, there are only a few units on display now, but Sony promises that users will see more kiosks in more locations soon.

The PS4 beats the Xbox One in consumer interest based on search trends.

Microsoft is offering users the chance to spend some one-on-one time with the Xbox One, however its approach is slightly more bombastic.

Trucks loaded with Xbox One consoles are touring the United States and Canada and have been since October 3rd. Dubbed the Xbox One Tour, users can head to these trucks to get a feel for some of the new experiences Microsoft hopes will set its console apart from the PlayStation 4. Gamers can head to Xbox.com to see if and when a truck is arriving in their area.

Microsoft is also allowing users to get their hands on the Xbox One at exclusive Area One events. Each party features gameplay and music as users mingle and check out the console. Unlike the company’s Xbox One Truck Tour, these events are limited to people 18 and older.

The PlayStation 4 launches on November 15th. The Xbox One’s launch comes a week later on November 22nd. Pre-orders for either console remain elusive, however Microsoft says that retailers will have Xbox Ones available for users who couldn’t pre-order at launch.
