First Printed iPhone X Photo Reveals Just How Amazing New Camera Is

The iPhone X camera is the star of the show, and we have a first look at a printed iPhone X photo sample along with analysis of what the new iPhone X cameras are capable of. Here’s a look at how good the iPhone X camera is based on an iPhone X sample photo shot by a pro.

Apple packs the best iPhone camera yet into the iPhone X, adding features that you won’t find on the iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus. While you have to wait for the iPhone X release date in November to take your own photos, you can see just how good the iPhone X camera is by taking a look at the first printed iPhone X photo.

CanvasPop printed one of Apple’s colorful iPhone X sample photos on canvas and shared an analysis of what the iPhone X camera is capable of capturing. Keep in mind this photo is taken by a professional photographer in ideal conditions, but it highlights what the iPhone X camera is capable of. CanvasPop is a popular canvas photo printing service that lets you print your favorite photos and even upload directly from Instagram.

“The 12-megapixel camera, with an f/1.8 – f/2.4 aperture, on the new iPhone X captures a brilliant image. The f/1.8 aperture can have such a shallow depth of field that your subjects will really pop on the blurry background.” explains CanvasPop. Apple’s been playing up Portrait Mode, but the actual camera tech here helps with that blurred background that really draws viewers to the subject.

CanvasPop goes on to add, “This being paired with the dual optical image stabilization mitigates the past problem of image clarity.  You can expect even clearer images in low light with less concern for motion blur or handshake blur.  The color saturation and clarity of photos are amazing once printed out.” Simply looking at the iPhone X sample photos on your iPhone or laptop screen isn’t enough to know how good the photos are. You really need to see them on a great display or printed out.

Apple’s decision to go with a new lens pays off according to CanvasPop who tells Gotta Be Mobile, “We found the new six-element lens to be the clearest yet. Looking around the edges of the image there were no issues of chromatic aberration and it resulted in a crisp clear image.”

Even if you don’t print a lot of your own photos, seeing what the iPhone X camera is capable of is promising, and may be enough to convince you to wait for the iPhone X instead of buying the iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus.

iPhone X: 8 New Features You’ll Love & 3 You’ll Hate

Incredible iPhone X Display

Incredible iPhone X Display

The new iPhone X display is one of the biggest reasons to buy this phone. Literally. It's a 5.8-inch display that dominates the front of the new iPhone and it doesn't require a massive overall phone size to give you this much room. You do need to deal with a small cutout area where Apple packs in sensors and cameras at the top of the screen.

Apple finally switches over to OLED technology for the Super Retina display. This screen features a 2436 x 1125 resolution and a whopping 458 ppi, which means you won't be seeing pixels when you look at it, just a lot of detail in your photos and videos. The screen also supports DolbyVision and HDR 10, which should make movies look stunning and there is support for True Tone, which helps deliver a more readable display.

Apple says that this is the first OLED screen that they felt was ready for the iPhone and they promise accurate colors, true blacks and a very high brightness. This screen dominates the front of the phone and it's going to be one of the iPhone X features you'll love the most.
