6 Reasons to Buy the OnePlus 7 Pro & 4 Reasons Not to

Now that the OnePlus 7 Pro is available users are likely considering it as their next phone, as they should. And while it’s a great phone, some potential buyers will want to wait before they buy. The OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the best phones in 2019, but it’s not perfect. Here are a few reasons why it’s worth buying, and a few reasons why you might want to wait or pass.

Alternatives like the Galaxy S10 or Pixel 3 XL offer a great experience and in some cases better performance and extra features. However, most phones can’t offer everything OnePlus does at its low price.

In fact, the OnePlus 7 Pro is very hard to beat at only $669. You’re getting a huge 6.67-inch display, four cameras, an in-display fingerprint scanner and the latest Android 9 Pie software. Yes, those are premium high-end specs that compete with Google, Apple, and other top devices coming in 2019 like the Pixel 4 and Galaxy Note 10.

Is the beautiful screen, slim design, triple rear cameras, and smooth software experience enough to outweigh some of the cons? Those being the pop-up camera, missing features, and likely average camera and battery performance.

Reasons to Buy the OnePlus 7 Pro

  • Beautiful Big Screen & 90Hz Refresh Rate
  • You Hate the Notch or Screen Cutouts
  • Top-Tier Performance
  • Fast Software Updates
  • You Want Storage Options
  • Affordable Price

Reasons Not to Buy the OnePlus 7 Pro

  • Big, Slippery & Fragile Design
  • Average Camera Experience
  • Potentially Poor Battery Life
  • You Have Other Options in 2019

This phone is brand new but deals are right around the corner and you might benefit by waiting a bit. If you’re still on the fence about the OnePlus 7 Pro, these are the key points to consider. Our slideshow below goes into more details about each reason and will help you make the right choice.

Beautiful Big Screen & 90Hz Refresh Rate

Beautiful Big Screen & 90Hz Refresh Rate

Perhaps the biggest and best reason to buy the OnePlus 7 Pro is for that screen. This year they're finally offering a Quad-HD AMOLED display, and they even copied Samsung with the curved edges so the screen curves off the side of the phone. It looks amazing and makes it appear as if there are no bezels. This is by far the best OnePlus phone to date and their best screen.

The company continues to improve with each release, and this phone feels like a $1,000 device. It's just as premium as any Pixel, iPhone, LG or Samsung Galaxy.

It's not just the best OnePlus phone either, it's also the biggest. Coming with a fancy 6.67-inch Quad-HD Fluid AMOLED display with the smallest bezels ever. OnePlus confirmed its impressive 93% screen-to-body ratio on the front. Which beats even the iPhone Xs (82%), Galaxy S10 and others.

And while the huge Quad-HD AMOLED display with tiny bezels is great, it's the all-new 90Hz refresh rate that has people excited. Most phones refresh the content on the screen around 60 times per second, a 60Hz refresh rate. We've seen a few 120Hz LCD screens in gaming phones, but nothing of that nature in a beautiful AMOLED panel.

How OnePlus managed to beat Samsung to the AMOLED 90Hz refresh rate is insane if you ask me. This makes the already gorgeous screen and fast phone look better, more smooth, fluid, and fast. That's a big part of why most early reviews say it's the fastest phone they've ever used.

You won't be disappointed with this screen.
