If you want to make sure your gadget is covered you should consider what you get from Costco when you buy a TV or appliance. I just bought a new TV at Costco even though I prefer to do most of my electronic shopping at Best Buy. In addition to saving $250 over Best Buy's price, it came with a better warranty.
Costco doubles the manufacturer warranty on TVs, major appliances and some other categories. This means I didn't need to spend money on an extended warranty. To make things even better, I purchased the TV on my Costco Visa and I was able to get an additional two years of coverage -- stretching the free warranty to four years. If you need more coverage, you can buy a SquareTrade Warranty that stacks on top of the free versions for a reasonable free and stretch your coverage out even further. |
