If you prefer to shop at Amazon or Best Buy because you've already invested in Prime or are a Elite Rewards member you may want to skip the Costco membership and work on price matching. Best Buy will price match Costco stores if they are within 25 miles. This does not extend to Costco.com prices, so this can limit some of the deals. It's something you can try if you are hoping to avoid paying for a membership and you like Best Buy rewards. Amazon prices are sometimes very similar to Costco, so if you are willing to wait or if you are very good at looking for bargains. Joining Costco may make you more likely to buy there even if they don't have the best deal, to justify the sunk cost of a membership. | |||||||||
