Should You Buy Anthem or wait for more information, updates and fixes before you buy this major open world game. Anthem arrived in February for PC, Xbox One or PS4 to initial praise, but that’s hit a wall with massive Anthem problems including bricked PS4 systems due to Anthem crashes.

We’ll help you decide if it is worth buying Anthem yet, or if you should wait or skip it altogether in favor of playing another game in 2019. The Division 2 brings an open world gaming experience to the mix this month.

There are two Anthem editions that you can buy, with the more expensive including some in-game items to give you a head start. You can buy Anthem Anthem at Best Buy, Newegg, GameStop and digitally through Xbox, PlayStation or Origin for $59.99 or $79.99 and you get it included with Origin Access Premier.

A lot of gamers are looking at Anthem and trying to decide if it is worth taking time away from favorites like Red Dead Redemption 2, Destiny 2, PUBG and other games. Until there is a fix for the Anthem crashes, new players should hold off, and it’s going to be interesting to see what impact this has on the game as a whole.

We’ll share the reasons you should place an Anthem pre-order today, and the reasons you should hold off and wait for more info, reviews and other details.

Don't Buy Until Anthem Problems & Crashes Are Fixed

Anthem crashes have plagued games for the last week, and in some cases rendered consoles unusable. Gamers took to forums and Reddit to complain about Anthem crashes and some claimed that the Anthem problems bricked their PS4 consoles.

BioWare says that no consoles were bricked due to the crash, telling gamers in a Twitch stream that consoles can be "powered back up if you know how to just turn the power back on, and cycle it properly" according to Ben Irving lead producer of Anthem at Bioware. We recently shared a potenital bricked PS4 fix for Anthem crashes, but BioWare says that gamers simply need to turn the console off and back on.

The developer promises a fix for Anthem crashes, which should arrive during the week of March 11th. This should fix the issue and BioWare says if you run into crashes before hand you can restart your console to keep playing.

While this is a better outcome than expected, you shouldn't buy Anthem until this patch arrives and gamers that already own the game report a good experience. This is a major test in how BioWare is able to respond to the problems and how this plays into the future of the game. It isn't just about the issue happening today.
